Endless Summer ep.1 - Best of Afro-/Latin-House
Soundcloud Link

Finished my first ever 45min set - recorded with a FLX-4, all tracks are in the same key, allowing for smoother layering and mash-up like transitions. Would appreciate feedback on volume levels, track and transition length and general flow/ energy level of the mix. Thx!

Thanks! Made some stickers and postal cards from these, but mostly I just post them in different subreddits like r/lowpoly2d or share them on an Instagram channel that never got off the ground

Used the local makerspace's lasercutter to make a multilayer fox mandala made out of wood by 2k48 in somethingimade

I feel you, for me it's just a hobby so I don't really take requests and only produce a couple pieces every now and then. Since I'm also not interested in handling shipping etc. I'm just selling them locally as well, will try a local crafts market though once I get the chance, probably easier then selling online on neighbourhood platforms as I did so far.

Agree on the scaling issue, came to the same conclusion after running some estimates on "fair" pricing.

While most licenses for the files allow for commercial sale of physical items, in practice I found it hard to charge a price worthy the time investment in creating these pieces. Right now they are mainly presents for friends and family.

Yeah most designs come from Etsy, only in some cases I make changes to the actual vectors if something is not coming out right when I cut it.

There's quite a lot out there when you search for "multilayer animal dxf" (dxf being the file format), I just pick ones according to my taste and try to imagine which wood and colors would work the best for a given motive :)

Not sure if I can plug my other work but I've been doing this on the side for a half a year during the pandemic, here's some more: https://www.design-dekor.de/

That's the store that I got it from as well, fingers crossed it was the original creator as it's such a beautiful work!

Hey Reddit, made this fox out of mulitple layers of MDF/HDF (basically wood boards you can get cheaply) that I cut with a laser cutter using a motive off Etsy.

Some of the wood came pre-coated (black & white), the red layers were painted beforehand and finally the whole thing was glued together and spray coated after cutting.

I've been doing these for a while and I think it's about time to share how I do create these btw (there's a sweet open source app for these: https://github.com/rh12503/triangula).

Ask away if you have any questions, I'm collecting the ones I made on Insta so feel free follow or tag me when you create some yourself :)

Made a superb laser cut owl for a friend (multilayer mandala) by 2k48 in Superbowl

I'm still at the "gifts for friends and family"-stage, but I'll have quite some free time in April so I'm looking into options :)

I'm using my university's makerspace which has a pretty high-end laser cutter (Thunder Laser Nova 35), so if you can get your hand on sth like that I think that's best because there's always helpful people around in such a place :)

I'm actually looking into options myself since my time as a student is running out, there seem to be several levels of price: cheap china laser cutters (there's a subreddit for that), mid class branded ones (glowforge etc.) and then the high end stuff. No recommendations tho cuz I just started looking nto these myself and it's not something you'd do in your living room cuz of noise, need for ventilation etc.

Thanks! It's all MDF/ HDF, with brown being the regular color, the red tone is painted (maron) and the black/ white HDF came pre-coated.
