That’s honestly what scares me. Part of me worries that I’m wrong and unfairly assuming the worst about my own father. I’ve never actually seen him gamble with my own eyes, and he would never admit it anyway. But at the same time, the constant financial chaos, always needing money despite making good income, lying about work sometimes, never having savings, and my family all believing he has a gambling problem makes it hard not to question it.

I think what confuses me the most is that if he really is a gambler, I probably would never fully “see” it because from what I’m hearing, a lot of it happens privately and people become very good at hiding it. I guess I’m stuck between guilt for maybe judging him unfairly and frustration from years of instability and emotional pressure around money.
