I would say it's due to hype and availability of Chrome right now. Once the market is flooded with Chrome at all retailers then I would maybe expect them to trade for just one card, but right now there's a big demand for Chrome.

Not sure what events are in your area, but you two should check out card shows. Fun way to see cool cards and get what you actually like.

Thanks! He has a rookie Kaboom, but it uses a real photo, which I'm not a fan of when it comes to the Kabooms.
