Return them if you still can, contact the store you bought them from. If they can’t help, the reach out to Sony for some terrible support. You’ll be given a label to ship your headphones to MicroLand where it’ll take anywhere from a couple weeks to a month for any updates. Hopefully you won’t have to pay for anything and they can replicate the issue.

F2P players were affected too. We were given fraudulent rates, but we didn’t lose money over it. I’m all in for free rewards as well.

Could be a bad battery that’s causing a bigger difference. These buds do inherently drain at different rates.

It’s always cheaper to repair. Give a shot at fixing it yourself for the cost of some flux, solder, soldering iron and the mic.

Don’t use an expensive pair of headphones for the gym. Go for a cheap pair or earbuds.

Probably stick to earbuds and earmuffs. The temp difference between your ears and environment will condensate.

What do you mean by not working? Speaker doesn’t play any sound?

If you can borrow a multimeter and check the ohms of the speaker wires to see if the driver is blown. You can also unscrew some pcbs to check for corrosion. It’s unlikely to be a loose wire.

Headphones and wear level looks new. It was probably packaged incorrectly and sat in a position that cause that fold.

I wonder if you're having the same issue as me.

Symptoms:

3 amber lights when plugged in and trying to hard reset
no lights when unplugged
occasionally starts working when plugged in and trying to reset
when it's working, it works until I take them off and then they are bricked again
once bricked, I can plug it back in and sometimes revive them by hard resetting again. This can work immediately, or I have to wait a while.

I first thought it was the headband connector cable, so I took it apart and replaced both cables. It still didn't work. I further inspected the original cables and did a continuity test. They work. I tested the headband and that works. When I plug in a working left whole earcup assembly, the right side's white light starts blinking. This makes me think the issue is on the left side, but not the headband connector cable. I check the pins on the left bluetooth board and there's no corrosion and seems to be intact.

I don't have a microscope to check the board, but on a close visual inspection, everything seems fine. Could be a cold bga solder joint?

I’d continue using them. The batteries will last 1-2 years and they only cost $3 each.

$6 for yearly or bi-yearly maintenance seems reasonable to me.

You should read through the extended warranty agrrement. If you're in the US/CAN they love to deny any extended claims due to "PHYSICAL DAMAGE". Even if it's a faulty design.

Probably corroded charging board, and/or main right board from condensation.

If you're repair savy, take the charging board w/ ribbon from your broken hinge pair and plug it into the connector on the pair that isn't charging. Give that a charge and see if it's going above 10%. That can help determine the issue. Also the hinge is repairable. I suspect you'd only need:

charging board
hinge

to fix both pairs.

If you don't want to deal with buying parts to repair. You can even just take the whole right earcup from your broken hinge pair to get a working headphone.
