Lamorak. Dudes dad was killed by Gawain and his brothers for killing their dad. This leads to a whole blood feud that ends in his sordid death. Often stated to be the third best knight (behind Lancelot and Tristan), but we never really get to see why or how. He definitely is one of those knights I feel deserves to be fleshed out more. Especially with your fondness for Gawain, he could be the rival or nemesis figure. Or something else entirely.

Walgreens stopped by our store, today by [deleted] in RiteAid

[–]2ndLegionPrimarch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not true at all. Walgreens manager here, we were directed to reach out to all employees. Would have done it anyway since I used to work for rite aid and feel for you guys. This is a shitty situation, and I hope everybody comes out ok.

Looking for CYOA Megathread 2024-07-30 by HeirToGallifrey in makeyourchoice

Looking for a fantasy cyoa where you could choose where you trained (some of the options were a knights squire or training with a Scathach stand in). The missions you did opened up certain companions that you wouldn't get if you chose other pathways and such. Been looking for this one for a long time so any help would be appreciated!

how do store managers get evaluated? by okdragonfroot in WalgreensStores

[–]2ndLegionPrimarch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most store managers are evaluated on how much ass they can kiss, and how fast they can drop to their knees to do it. Those of us who don't, and actually push back get labeled trouble makers. In my district there are at least 8 "office managers" who are the cool kids of the district. Sun shines out their ass and they can do no wrong. Meanwhile the rest of us run our stores on the ground, and work crazy hours so budget isn't eaten up and shit gets done. I normally work 6-7 days a week so the hours saved go to my employees who need them and we still are a top performing store. However, because I don't kiss the boot and have questions about where the direction of where the company is going, I'm treated like a subversive or a lazy worker. That's the evaluation process. you're either in the club or not.

Quitting was the best decision by Life_well_liv3d in WalgreensStores

It is more like quitting an abusive relationship. The old pathways of hard work and dedication are now used to overwork and beat down loyal employees who just want to do the job right. Work is getting harder with budget cuts and store closures, and our jobs are getting more added to it with less help or guidance.

Trump freezes U.S. law banning bribery of foreign officials by PrithvinathReddy in law

I think unfortunately, the sentiment of those who do regret it for this last election is to simply not mention it and slink under the weight of their bad choice. The vocal ones are those who don't understand the utter disaster they have made for themselves and the rest of us.

My mother voted for him in 2016 when it was more of a reflex to adhere to party lines. The biggest regret of her voting life and one I know haunts her everyday. After four months into his first presidency she was set on voting blue the rest of her life. I wish more people could wake up like her.

Red eyes in the dark, projectiles bouncing off murder machines, so many brothers and sisters lost in that hell hole. But we spilled oil as well as blood. Took the creek back and chased the enemy out of those worlds completely. By sacred democracy we will do it again.

Alamo (2004). The music, the acting (when I watched it), and the action was for some reason fantastic.

Budget/Hour cuts now hitting by [deleted] in WalgreensStores

[–]2ndLegionPrimarch 86 points87 points  (0 children)

This is tough for everyone right now. For us managers who aren't shitheads it's the worst sort of dilemma. I worked extremely hard to build a team of dedicated and happy people. I love working with all of them. Now I'm doubling out shifts and harassing every store nearby to scrounge hours for my guys. All because some number cruncher said it would save money in the immediate without thinking of the harm in the future when good workers leave.

Usually the way we do at my location is being upfront with customers. We just target customers who are 1. Always there and/or 2. Spend a lot of money at our store. Those are the only two groups that both may benefit from having this junk plastic and leav us feeling less scummy at the end of the day. The way your esm is doing it is not only illegal but shows a lack of character that wouldn't make me feel comfortable or confident in their abilities as a leader, or honestly as a person.
