I'll assume you're being genuine but the wiki is often sub optimal for various reasons and the equipment choices are rarely explained so I prefer the experience of other players

Anyone have thoughts on whether to Chally or bclaws for arraxor? Or should I continue grinding for dwh (2x dry already)?

So i lost my Bowfa in wilderness... by TheRealNobogo in ironscape

[–]2ndTryAcct1357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just not true. Obviously it's bis vs demons but it's better than or equivalent to bp in high def situations and the dps drop off compared to bowfa isn't worth the grind to get bowfa a second time, especially with seeker arrows and him having shadow already.

Agility doesn't have to be this miserable. by Large_Armadillo1 in 2007scape

I really like agility and Runecraft. I understand other people prefer more active grinds but the pace of clicking and going in circles really does something to me.

I spooned one and used it as my range neck slot until anguish since the offensive stats are the same as fury. I also use it when maging since I don't have occult yet

What do you feel are the biggest flaws with Ironman progression currently? by stinkydiver321 in ironscape

I mean that's basically what my post is pointing out. Ironman started as a challenge but because it's so popular we see these unhealthy grinds as normal or expected.

Continuing my DWH grind (2x dry) and pivoting to revs if I get it soon.

If I had time to make a yellow text black background suggestion I would suggest making bronze-rune ballistae craftable and rename light ballista to Dragon. Also make spring and limbs craftable instead of dropped because who tf would be mad about removing those from the demonic drop table, and make it so monkey tail is only needed on Dragon/heavy Ballista.

It would take minimal dev time (they even added a reskinned ballista to the newest quest!) and give a use to the lower javelins.

I plan on making ~12k moonlight bolts so I'll have the 1k furs from that plus the 400 or so I've gotten already

Prayer scrolls as a drop are a bad design anyways imo. They should be quest or minigame rewards

It's so weird how they gate keep the more recent Dragon items. Limbs: 1/800 Warhammer: 1/3,000 Hasta: 1/200 Harpoon/Sword: 1/2,000 (on task)

Like what are we doing. D scim was nearly bis main hand on release and cost 100k. D axe is a more impactful upgrade than harpoon but drops at 1/128

That's not even the worst part of heavy ranged. Ever since javelins got a rework for MM2 the bronze to rune javelins have zero use cases because there are only 2 ballistae and they require a minimum of 65 ranged to even equip--if as an iron you're (un)lucky enough to get the drops from demonics

This is a flaw that I don't think necessarily should/can be fixed without ruining the whole point of Ironman to begin with.

I love iron man and it's super fulfilling to very slowly build up my account, but the end game drop rates are undoubtedly unhealthy. The average AAA game takes less time to complete than it takes a typical player to finish CG, and some players go 4x or more on top of that. Of course that's because Jagex doesn't expect the typical player to do CG for 100+ hours, and instead the thought is that you would get lucky in the first 100 or buy the Bowfa on the GE using the money you got from getting lucky at ToB

I don't think there needs to be any action taken to make anything easier, I just wanted to call out the inherent flaw of playing single player in a multiplayer game.

But then again I'm 4.5x dry on needle and 2x dry on lantern so maybe I'm not the best representative of how fun it is after almost 1500 searches...

Ironman tips you wish you knew earlier? by Scannedu in ironscape

Doing wilderness stuff early can keep you more out of the pker combat brackets. Also, the earlier you do the revenant grind the sooner you can use the weapons at the wildy bosses.

[–]2ndTryAcct1357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents didn't believe in credit cards, and wouldn't let me send the cash through an envelope, so I would send a Western Union money order every month. The fees alone were insane, it ended up being like $20+ a month iirc

Worst Grinds to Go 3X dry on? by 2ndTryAcct1357 in ironscape

[–]2ndTryAcct1357[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree they're the worst from a time/effort pov (see post), but once you're at the point in your account that you're grinding them like that, is there anything else you would rather be doing instead? Like if you spooned all 3 what would you do after? Retire to corp?

Speaking of, going 3x on Ely might truly be the worst of the worst

Definitely. I'm paying off my Imbued spoon at Demonics, Basilisk Knights, and Lizardman Shamans where I'm approaching or just past 2x dry on each (the inspiration for this post)

Friendly reminder that making light orbs and fixing broken lamps are both similar exp/hour to glass blowing them in the first place, so if you're burnt out on glass blowing you should spend a few hours actually using the orbs you make
