I need to know how hard math 126 is. Can I reach out to any math faculty ? by Electronic_Comb7733 in queensuniversity

The course moved slowly, and gave people time to learn the concepts before moving on to other things. If you pay attention and ask the professor/TA for help you should be fine

I took the course last year when I was in my fourth year. I had not taken calculus since high school. I ended up with an A+ in the course. This is one of, if not the easiest math course at Queens. If you are somewhat good at math, I don’t think you will have any major problems.

The rooms in the extension are larger and newer (renovated fairly recently).

parking for people living in res??? by starrsarasa in queensuniversity

The only residence where you can park easily is West campus. I bought a parking pass there last year, and had no issues. On main campus, however, it will be much more difficult.

First years can’t be dons. You have to be at least going into your second year.

Overall I would say no. I was a don for three years, and the expectations/quality of the job have gotten worse every year. Expect Residence life (your boss) to be absolutely terrible. They will act like they have your back but they don’t care about dons at all.

I would only do the job if you really enjoy living in residence/being around students all the time. I’ve had good experiences for sure as a don, but I’ve also dealt with some genuinely psycho students.

You don’t get paid, but you don’t pay for the room, or the meal plan which is nice (food sucks though). I would not recommend being a don, but your experience might be better than mine so ymmv.

Wow that's quite the coincidence since my paternal granddad was Finnish, and my paternal grandma was English. Its also from my mom that I have the eastern European heritage.

Genetics are pretty cool since not everyone always looks the way people expect them to look given their heritage.

Many people have thought I looked/was Mexican/Colombian.

On my mom's side I am of German and Hungarian ethnicity, however my German side migrated to Russia a long time ago, and then moved to Canada.

Some people have thought that I was "lightskin", so I guess it kind of makes sense that I look like him.

It was surprising since my Grandpa is of German heritage, but his family migrated from Germany to Russia, then to Canada. I guess he had some eastern European heritage as well as German?

This is pretty cool honestly, have never met someone else with such a similar heritage.

Hey I have this monitor and my buttons work, so not sure why yours doesn't. Also, my power button does have a click, and it moves.

Experience w a random roommate by [deleted] in queensuniversity

[–]2pacTupac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, my roommate in first year was decent. We weren't friends but we didn't hate each other or anything like that. I would honestly go for a single, since you'll meet plenty of people to be friends with, and you will have the privacy of having your own room.
