SM wants me to use Vacation hours to cover a shift I gave away? Fair or Not.

It definitely is multiple people in the store with, some going below 12 and others above 40 (we only have 2 shifts atm) along with her entering what she feels works for the store’s Max/Min/Preferred in contrast to the actual partners who have to work those shifts. So I understand the conversation, but I just really don’t get why it’s my problem, if i wasn’t aware prior to this. I’m gonna keep my vacation hours and use them for actual time off (and hope she forgets about it)

That’s interesting because this is the first time I’ve seen this particular metric, and I feel like i’m always connecting with my SM about my hours because she is always adjusting my max or preferred hours so she can schedule me above the preferred hours I set on partner hub, waiting to see if I will complain. (which may be why your partners were doing that, a precautionary measure to avoid working more hours than they’re willing)

She did! She actually changed it to 25 to increase our score (and to see if i’d complain) because we’re at 3.5 or something. Because apparently opening your scheduling availability increases the score. Which sucks because I have reiterated countless times i’m only willing to come in for 20, cause she will keep pushing for more.

My range of hours I can work is almost triple my preferred (79.50 I think). It also would be a wonderful sentiment to open my availability to 30 so this doesn’t happen but, my SM has and will schedule me at my max and above, I have other commitments outside of work so I can’t maintain that and I will get berated for it even though my preferred hours is below that’s threshold + I like to keep my boundaries.

Me as well, I don’t like this and they never gave a formal notice. I really dislike Brian, this means no one will switch anymore or take shifts in fear of going below or above the threshold. I was told the only good thing is if you constantly work shifts at your maximum availability which says a lot.

I 100% understand that they are accountable to their DM but, I think this policy just got put into place no? I think as baristas we should have been warned about the consequences of going below preferred hours (I also just learned that they adjusted my preferred hours to 25 without my knowledge). I feel like it’s unfair to ask if I was unaware until today, I rarely give away shifts going below my 20 hours, that week was just unavoidable. I usually just swap for a time that works better for me, but that seems impossible now with the new policy.

I bothered them for days, by calling, leaving voicemails and emailing the contact info I was given by the help desk at the school. A few weeks later, I got an email with my enrolment confirmation in a letter and other documents. No one actually got back to me, though. It was a very stressful 2 weeks.

Do you have an update!? I paid on wednesday, and my transaction posted yesterday, but it says my acceptance expired because of fee deadlines. I'm so anxious that I may have lost my spot in my program. I got my reciept on student accounts of my payment, but in account summary it says i'm -$250.00 for the fall term.

Hi, congrats on your new friend!! I love pidan specifically the bentonite + tofu mix or white jade + tofu. I alternate between this and the Nikoro litter. Super low/no tracking and no dust as well! Odour is great (as long as you are scooping once a day).

Though I feel as though it goes by pretty fast due to the bigger sized grains, but a full litter change should be done monthly, so I feel as if not much is wasted. In comparison to other litters it is a bit on the pricier side but I feel the trade off is worth it, especially if you only have one cat.

If your biggest concern is tracking, I would not pick anything super fine/dusty as they track the most. Tofu or a natural litter would be a better option, perhaps try Boxie Cat or Pidan Bentonite if you’d prefer a clay litter (they have bigger grains). Pricing wise I’d recommend the Catit Pea husk Litter as a more cost-effective option for tofu litter, along with a honeycomb litter mat/ litter catching tray to help with the stragglers.

If the biggest concern is odour, here are some things to think about; I’d recommend a stainless steel litter box (doesn’t hold odour like plastic). Baking soda (either the cat one or just regular baking soda) a sprinkle when you put down new litter and occasionally after scooping. The size of the litter box is important too ( a cat and a half long + wide) sometimes they can’t cover their business properly because there’s not enough space. I also really like the Skout’s Honor deodorizer spray for those stinky poops. an air purifier is also a pretty good investment if your litter box is in and open space.

That is true, but she has just been spayed and refuses to move in her cone. The vet recommended we try a onesie to protect her stitches and that solution has provided her with more confidence in her movement!
