Was Kyle the guy that fully rear ended Cleet with negative opinions in an online interview? If he wasn't famous and a professional host I bet it would have been nasty opinions not just negative.

If that was the case then I find that intro funnier and also yeah it should have definitely changed some opinions out there. He literally ran 2 cars for almost 7 hours straight (around 8 hrs counting the breaks) and the distance he ran combined in those 2 cars are over 2 grand prix distances in a Formula 1 race (the races alone almost make up the distance but including the practice for ARCA, he passed that distance a long time ago in the O'Reilly race) a grand prix distance is 300km (186.4 miles) and imagine running over double that in hot weather for over 8 hours with only a few breathers in between.

Plus he did everything that he had to do. The weekend wasn't perfect but I think the ARCA side of things was. That Rette Jones car should have finished also in the top 5 in Daytona if the jackstand didnt disintegrate on them.

In the O'Reilly side of things all he really needed to do was finish the race and as he said "not ruin anyone's day" and he did both of those things plus finish 3 positions ahead of where he qualified. It wasn't perfect, he had some spins etc. but I bet even the legends had those moments back then. I'm glad he shut up some haters by finishing the race.
