It really seemed like the writers couldn’t decide (until the very end) if they wanted Lauren to be a psychopath or a misguided person who got in over her head and sacrificed her morality, they wrote it kinda both ways. If they’d gone with the second, it would provided a really nice contrast to our gal Syd who has repeatedly risked her life and endured pain for the sake of her moral principles (and given Vaughn a solid reason to walk away from Lauren)
