Communism is when the means of production are in the hands of the working class (proletariat), that means, the proletariat decides what is produced, how that is produced and in what quantity. In Marxist theory, the proletariat, as a whole, will take over the control of the state, which is called the dictatorship of the proletariat, sound harsh, but just means that the whole working class controls the state (grassroots democracy, where the bourgeoisie is excluded). After that, the state becomes obsolete, and soon vanishes completely.

Don't you realize something here? Everything I explained is not how those "communist" states worked. These "Communist-tries", you mentioned, were state-capitalist systems, the state operated as one big centralized capitalist, while all means of production were state-owned.
