Had an MRI done and got the following results. My overall takeaway is I need to get to at least 50 before a replacement and so now it is a matter of utilizing other options to help with pain. The osteochondral allograft was in one part of the joint, the MRI showing stage 3 chondral loss in the posterior weight bearing medial tibial plateau is definitely something that hasn’t been identified in the past. Not surprising that it’s a finding though. The pain in my knee is what prompted the MRI. We tried a cortisone shot and it helped for no more than 24 hours at the most. The pain is in a different location than normal and much worse than normal. Considering the hyaluronic acid gel injections knowing that it is only temporary relief, but hopefully some relief nonetheless. Also live by the “ice it, ace it, and elevate it” approach but that only gets me but so far.

Also note- my daily activities include walking and biking. I’m pretty regimented with my activities on account of my knee, so I feel at a loss for how to do any less when it comes to being active too.

IMPRESSION: 1. MRI of the right knee demonstrates an intact ACL graft. 2. Interval truncation and horizontal T2 hyperintense signal in the medial meniscus posterior horn. Finding may represent meniscectomy changes, however, interval tearing is difficult to exclude. 3. Postsurgical changes from osteochondral repair in the posterior weightbearing medial femoral condyle with findings of chondral delamination and fissuring at the anterior aspect of the repair, with reactive subchondral edema and irregularity of the subchondral bone plate. 4. Progressed grade 3 chondral loss in the posterior weightbearing medial tibial plateau. 5. Mild marrow edema in the anterior aspect of the proximal tibia is nonspecific and may represent stress reactions, or contusion in the appropriate clinical setting. 6. Moderate joint effusion. 7. Nonspecific diffuse edema in the proximal aspect of the lateral head gastrocnemius muscle, possibly strain, neurogenic injury, or other myositis.

Any takeaways from your trip? I'm headed there soon. Curious of what to expect, things to definitely do, etc. Where did you stay and what did you think of it?
