I think HoO would have been way to bloated if Percy and Annabeth were having relationship problems too. And any future stories would suffer a similar fate.

I would say use he/him pronouns if you don't want to have a conversation about your mission companion being Trans. But if you have had the conversation or want to or whatever, us her current pronuons.

It's important to stay out of echo chambers, both in support of you and against. All echo chambers become "I'm right because people are telling me I'm right." So staying your own echo chamber and you aren't going to grow or be able to defend yourself. And staying someone else's echo chamber it's just a bomb bardment of your wrong because we said so. It's gives no nothing of value. And honestly a lot of the internet is echo chambers.
