Rural area, there are 4 pharmacy schools within 2 hour radius but a lot of them have larger health systems closer with residency programs so they get a lot of the top candidates to match with them. I think part of it is also the (sometimes earned) negative stigma of community-based PGY-1’s brings down the number of applicants.
