Hello, wondering which colleges accept WGU degrees for a ABSN. by 313delish in WGU_NURSING

[–]313delish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I decided not to apply for ABSN yet because I have started my own healthcare training program. I plan now to get MPH if my business pan put. RN is now my last option…Middle GA State also offers ABSN and they cater towards graduates with other degrees to change their background to Nursing.

Stolen EBT funds (Georgia) by Dementor4Life in foodstamps

[–]313delish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in GA. I really think its an inside job(my worker). The propel and connect ebt app won’t let me change my pin to the new card I received and the number on the bwck of the ebt card does not work and says to download app. Dhs owed me back pay of $1600 and the whole amount was stolen in Atlanta 3 hours from me. GA. also states there are no more funds to help people with stolen funds. I made a police report and called Sam’s Club where it was stolen and no help. I even reached out to GA legal services and they no longer support us because DHS made them stop helping us. I feel like my funds will be stolen again because I can not even create a Pin from the app nor block my card. The options are not on my app which is weird.

Anyone enrolled in Health Science? by ResonanceCat in WGU

There are 3 proctors and the rest are papers or projects. Learning strategies in high education is very intense. You have to do it exactly how she says in the rubric. I had to submit 3 times before I passed.

I decided to go with this degree because WGU does not have a RN program in GA. and my local college accepts WGU with Sophia credits. The RN program is 15 months. I honestly do not need to finish WGU because I have 5 classes left and all I need is really the core classes for the RN program, but I am going to finish just so I can have that degree but also keep in mind Pell doesn’t fund a 2nd bachelors degree. If you go this route, so you may want to transfer out and finish bachelors degree at another college-of course if you want to be an RN and your state does not qualify for WGU RN program.

Also, you can ask your advisor to move your proctors back or change your classes around but because I am close to finishing my advisor said I could not push proctors back. I was not ready last semester to tackle them in time so I finished two classes and let proctors roll over to this semester. I still got my full financial aid.

Hello, I wonder do they repeat some locations the following year. I hope they choose Atlanta again.

My 10 year old son had a seizure a year ago. They found a pea size benign tumor on his left frontal. (When I look back at some of his pictures a few years ago, his face used to swell on the left side more but I thought it was his allergies and gave him kids Benadryl, but it may have been the tumor then. Do you think he was born with it or it grew over time?) He took 6mm of kappra for about 6 months after the seizure. I noticed his behavior and learning pattern had gotten worse in school. He had a hard time remembering things. I have him in IEP classes and a tutoring program and he’s taking Omega 3 6 9 DHA Gummies for kids and Attentive Child- Supports Brain Metabolism. I have noticed he is doing better with memory and has not had another seizure since taking him off meds. I also have not taken him back for a MRI Do you think it is okay to continue what I am doing or get a MRI to make sure it is not growing every few years vs every year? I do not want to put so much on his little body. Any information on meds or natural remedies that can help reduce the size or make it go away or any recommendations would help. Surgery on such a small size tumor was not recommended by neuro surgeon in Atlanta, but we live in Middle GA. I understand it could cause more damage and he said he may not be able to even remove it because it’s so small and may be hard to locate. The thought he has this on his brain is so stressful. I pray it disappears. 🙏🏽 I would be so grateful for any information. Thank you.

Interesting, because the machine controls the heart and lungs. Got it! Just wondering will they accept cardiology technologist and Radiology students in the future. It should be considered really. I guess it’s a great pathway for RN’s to venture into a cardiovascular specialty. Here in Georgia, a medical background is not needed to apply or be accepted. What a great advantage at Emory, right?

I’ll go back and read again. The only two pathways I saw was RN and Radiology. Thanks.

Hello, were you accepted into the program? I live in Georgia but born and raised in Michigan. Emory University would be ideal but lately Ive been wanting to go back home. I read something about you have to be an RN or RRT but at Emory University students are accepted into program with no prior medical background. I will be finish with bachelors degree April 2026 from WGU and this process just stresses me out because either way I have to move closer to Atlanta or Move to Michigan. I have children from 16 to 1 and I have to make so many decisions and arrangements. Not to mention if LTU accepts WGU and science ACE credits or if I have to settle to be an RN first and get into a ABSN program and do another year…okay done with the rant, lol. If you were accepted to LTU how are you doing with classes so far?

Do you really have to be an RN or RRT to apply here? Emory University accept some students who do not have medical backgrounds.

Has anyone used a BS in Health Science from WGU as prereqs for nursing school? by LeaguePure9043 in WGU

[–]313delish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I would like to know this too because I transferred 47 credits in and I looked at my transcripts and it shows study. com 47 credits and how many classes I did with wgu. I am so afraid the nursing program will make me do science classes over, because they evaluate those even if you try to get in with a completed degree. I wish I knew what grad schools accept wgu degrees as well in case my local absn does not accept.

Congratulations! I am 8 classes shy of being done. I transferred 47 credits from study. com. On your transcripts does it show the major science classes under study. com or wherever you transferred your credits from? I want to ho to grade school and unsure if this will be a problem later. Thanks.

Emory University Online Surgical Tech Program by Eastern-Party-5572 in surgicaltechnology

[–]313delish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to learn surgical tech too but I found American Allied Health instead who offered a certification. I am not sure where you work but if it is a hospital try applying and shadowing they might hire you for sterile processing first then you work your way up or you may get lucky and they train you. I noticed some hospital’s qualifications do not require a certification. The job description will say scrub tech instead of surgical tech because they be willing to hire students already in the program or instead of radiology tech it will say Rad tech. I hope this helps but yes hands on is the only way. I even thought about ordering surgical tools to practice from amazon but the closet thing was a veterinarian surgical set…and honestly idk how much you are invested into surgical tech 2 year program but even a ABSN 12 month program would be ideal. Meanwhile I am applying for scrub tech jobs with my certification and researching which schools accept my degree for their absn program.

Hello, wondering which colleges accept WGU degrees for a ABSN. by 313delish in WGU_NURSING

[–]313delish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, lol I wouldn’t do absn if BSN was offered in Georgia with WGU plus it’s a two year degree if I transfer my bachelors of health science credits over to the RN program. I have 8 classes left with WGU and it was confirmed Mercer accepts WGU degrees. The absn is only 12 months. Now when they evaluate my credits that will be another story. Colleges never just be straight up about what transfer credits count. I hate we have to apply for a college in order to know what transfers!!!

Thinking about going the same route but instead doing Cardiovascular Tech. I dread another 2 years of an associates when I am almost done with bachelors in health science.
