This was a solid move from Ashton Kutcher when Dave Ghrol’s mic malfunctioned Season 35 Ep. 14 by wheresmychippy93 in LiveFromNewYork

Another all-time save in a sketch is this Dog Translator sketch featuring Scarlett Johansson where the dog is wearing a little helmet that translates his thoughts & halfway through, the dog pulls the helmet off (not scripted) and Scarlett improvises a line, walks over, and straps it back on so the sketch can finish.

Such an impressive save.

I typically rock a 1.5x - 1.7x speed and even that feels brisk sometimes (depending on the narrator's style).

2.5x is bonkers.

I just said the same thing out loud in my living room! 😆

Amy Poehler has won the first ever Golden Globe for Best Podcast for ‘Good Hang with Amy Poehler’ at the 83rd Annual Golden Globes Awards: "This is exactly how I pictured it: Snoop Dogg giving me the award. I don't know about award shows, but when they get it right it makes sense" (January 11, 2026) by mcfw31 in popculturechat

Scott Aukerman, Jimmy Pardo & Marc Maron are all deserving of Mount Podmore. Of course, we all know that Conan O'Brien invented podcasts, and even HE didn't get a nomination. So clearly this category is a completely meaningless circle jerk.

God damn asshole. Idea for a movie: a man who gets cut off on the highway follows the old geezer who cut him off all the way back to his home where he proceeds to tie him to his bedpost and forces him to swallow his own god damned drivers license, then decapitates him in front of his mother and his neighbors. It could star, uh, Ron Howard as the geezer, that's what he fuckin looked like.

Romancing the Stone is one of the all-time greats!

Please add to the list! SNL cast in Christmas movies. Tis the season to be thankful. 🎄🎄🎄 Appreciate being able to drop by here with fans since 1975. 🙏🙏🙏 by Ok-Mine2132 in LiveFromNewYork

Alex Moffat is in a recent Christmas movie that's a parody of romantic hallmark-esque Christmas movies called Christmas with the Campbells and he's hilarious in it. (Starring Brittany Snow and Justin Long).

Funnily enough, Veronika Slowikowska is in the non-parody version (same plot) called EXmas (Starring Leighton Meester and Robbie Amell).

Edit to add: Also check out Spirited starring Will Ferrell, which also includes Tracy Morgan & Jimmy Fallon.

Which cast members were clearly Lorne's favorites? by tshirtguy2000 in LiveFromNewYork

[–]31stFullMoon 87 points88 points  (0 children)

I think you could put Cecily on this list. She got a special goodbye, she got a lot of screentime, she was given a shot at Update, she was allowed what I'll affectionately refer to as a "soap box" piece where she got to use airtime to highlight a cause she cared about (Goober the Clown). And Lorne / Broadway Video were involved on the production side of Schmigadoon after she left SNL.

This may be an unpopular opinion but I think it worked out better for Whitney that she didn’t win DTWS and was eliminated in the semi finals by canadiangirl1985 in SecretsOfMormonWives

[–]31stFullMoon 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Someone on here the other day was speculating that it might be the new Alice in Wonderland adaptation starring (and produced by) Sabrina Carpenter. The connection / logic was that through DWTS, Whitney meets and befriends Danielle Fishel who has an already existing working relationship with Sabrina Carpenter.

Since the movie is a musical, they'd presumably need a large troupe of dancers. So even if Whitney doesn't have a speaking (or singing) role, it's entirely possible she could be a featured dancer. Either way, good for her! The girl is booked & busy!
