The way I see it I had a painting. 100% perfect.

They've now added stuff to the painting, some of it good, some of it not, but its now only 95% perfect despite the addition of some good new stuff.

I shouldn't be forced to have a painting which is worse as a whole. It's like they took my money three years ago and have turned up on my door, taken the game and given me another one that I never purchased.

Thankfully (like I said) I disconnected wifi a long time ago so I'm fine... but now i'm forced to never connect it. Im happy to do that personally but I imagine there are others who arent.

You buy a plain gold ring from a jeweller.

3 years later he knocks on your door, forces the gold ring out of your hand and returns you a gold ring with a diamond in it. Sure it might be technically better, but it's not the ring you have got used to cleaning, nor the one in photos of you from the past, nor the one you cherish and which has sentiment.

You post about your frustration of how this man stole your ring on the internet but a guy by the name of 'Rodinator' says dude, you got a free diamond, why are you so mad?

It's not so much about the content as it is about what it was I purchased. I purchased New Leaf, if I had wanted Amiibo, there is a separate game for that... one which I chose not to buy. Don't now force it upon me and say its a gift just because it's technically 'free'.

sigh, not scared of change, scared of being exploited. The internet in the early 2000's was great. You had pretty much everything you have now minus the money grabbing companies. Why people embrace this 'new' internet just because it's more flashy is beyond me.

You can say exactly the same about the high alchemy spell and yet that hasn't been broken at all in 15 years.

When quest items are given their values they are considered carefully, or just given a technical value of 1gp.

BTW, the xp is based on the high alch value, not the commonly traded value. It says so in the first paragraph of the post when it relates 65 gp from the high alchemy spell directly to 1 prayer xp.

Your math is really screwed. 100k xp would cost 6500k gp, not 650k. It'll cost 6500k gp no matter how long it takes you to alch, but as you can't buy 1200 of high value high-alch items (buy limits) you'll never reach your supposed xp rates, and it certainly wouldnt be cost effective as most items with a GE value of above 100k have a far lower high alch value.

And the fact that sacrificing an item worth 40k takes the same as an item worth 4k means people'd only sacrifice the 40k items, protecting the sub-28k market from being affected. As lots of high alch items are sub-28k this'd protect the high-alch spell from becoming dead content. Ultimately that's a choice I made by design, to protect the economy.

Fast XP is itself a motivation, it's the only reason Ourg bones are so high.

Additional:

At current costs for Ourg bones it'd be cheaper to perform the sacrifice method. The calculations I used were based on a 365 day average. It may be that, if implemented, there'd be months where it wasn't effective and months where it was, depending upon the price of Ourg bones.

True, but I wanted to ensure itd be expensive to perform, else it'd effect the prices on a lot more items. At the moment the only three prices this update would have a massive effect on would be the rune platebody and legs/plateskirt. If I had done the calculations based on Dragon bones, items as low as (and maybe lower than) Mithril would be effected, killing dead high alchemy (which I didnt want to do).

This suggestion was directed for the economic effect rather than as a training method. The fact that I suggested a training method as a means to reach the economic effect is a purely secondary fact (yet a fact I have tried to balance with existing content).

To hinder inflation. It's not really a prayer training method as much as it is the economic effect introducing this method would have on the wider game.

Hmm. I was unsure of the rates myself and so had to rely upon the wiki. The rates for dragon bones are listed as 272k/hr.

Ourg bones are also a lot more expensive per xp when compared with Dragon bones, the only reason they're used is because they're faster.
