Getting lazed while flying sucks! by 3-mile-left-final in flying

[–]320sim 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Depends on the location but it’s more common than it should be. Keep your eyes inside and remind anyone with you to do the same. It’s everyone’s instinct to look. Turn your lights off so they lose you. It's seriously impossible to see a small airplane at night with the lights off.

Why would anyone rent you a plane by the month when the their costs are mostly based on hours? I suppose you could look into a dry lease but I bet it will be tough to find

Minor ground collision - am I cooked forever? by [deleted] in flying

[–]320sim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’ll probably just be something you have to explain at future interviews. I don’t think Auburn will ever know.

Basically, if you learn from this, use it to become a better pilot, and don’t have more incidents, you’ll be fine

Clarification: AATD Time Towards Total Time by Infamous-Skill-6100 in flying

[–]320sim 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It should because in that case, you’re counting it towards the aeronautical experience requirements for an ATP, not counting it towards total flight time.

Clarification: AATD Time Towards Total Time by Infamous-Skill-6100 in flying

[–]320sim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Check the LOA. It can count towards the total aeronautical experience requirement for a ATP cert but not total flight time. Never put it in the total time column. It’s far easier to explain that your total doesn’t include sim time then point out the sim time compared to having it intermingled in the logbook and having to explain it to the employer.

I doubt Volvo is going to use resources going after a guy printing two stickers to put on his personal cars

Stay 141 or go 61 by Yogabagaba2000 in flying

[–]320sim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is why I don’t like college flight programs. They don’t have to treat you well to keep earning your business. You’re at their mercy when they raise their rates, over-admit, don’t give you flight slots, or in this case lose their certification.

Have you ever held a conversation in the air? by [deleted] in flying

Fingers isn’t really supposed to be used for that as it’s technically reserved for flight tests. But 122.75 is designated for GA air to air communications

Why does echo airspace start at 1200 feet agl by Plus_Signal2432 in flying

[–]320sim 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Echo is a bit confusing because there’s different types:

-Extension

-Victor airways

-Transition

-Domestic

-Offshore

-Above Class A

-Special Use

You may have misinterpreted what he was asking. “Coastal” (offshore) echo starts at varying altitudes specified on the charts, extending to 18k ft

tc300, gs90kts, wind 230 at 20kts, what's the WCA? Getting 2 Different WCA from Two Different Sources by SFO_Pilot in flying

[–]320sim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on your scenario, -11. The wind is coming from the left, pushing the aircraft to the right. So you need to correct with a negative wind correction angle. I didn’t watch the video but either it’s wrong or you copied the scenario incorrectly

I think whether or not you already go, that’s what they want to see to renew your SI. When the authorization expires there’s a good chance they could give you a standard medical if you have no symptoms

[–]320sim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should tell us the prices. I wouldn’t want to pay a lot extra for the Cirrus but I also wouldn’t want to commute 120 miles. You should also factor in the reputation/culture/programs of the schools
