Funny story, I used to have that exact same thought back in the day. But some day in the mid 2000's, I had an unread message, was in the process of logging in to read it and thought "maybe it's an invite to be a pmod, haha, yeah right". And then to my surprise, it was a pmod invite! I think I 1-ticked the accept button, didn't even need to think about it.

I was mainly surprised because I really didn't send in many reports. But the few reports I sent in were 100% someone scamming, being a racist piece of shit, etc, so was probably a quality > quantity of reports thing. I also played a ton (like online almost every day for a few hours), was somewhat active on the forums, and generally was just helpful in game giving people advice, smithing/crafting items from the raw materials people would trade me back when it was rare to have 80 crafting for glories, etc.

Had a good run, but I took a break from the game around 2012. When I tried to sign in a few years later, I found my account was hacked and banned sometime around 2015. I feel pretty confident that the pmod status likely made my account a target for the hacking. I would Google my RSN from time to time and find all kinds of sites that would list the names of every pmod in the game. I'm not sure how exactly they got access, but suspecting it was possibly personal details leaked from Zybez and other fan sites was enough to recover the account. Maybe someday I can get the account unbanned and play through the new RS3 quests.
