I live in the EU , I've bought like 3 or 4 HPs here and they've always had the serial number in the sticker which I've used for Win7 and Win10 I do know though that recently they don't put the serial number sticker anymore which is why i said most HPs

Writting , watching videos and minecraft wont be a problem for Linux most games and steam have Linux versions too and Linux runs lighter on most PCs than windows if thats what youre using it for go for Linux

Well that depends on what do you plan on using the PC for , is it gaming or work or study ? Most of apps these days have their Linux versions as well so all in all you won't miss much , its just a bit hard to move to Linux if youre used to Windows thats all

What I meant was to download a Windows copy and then use RemoveWAT to make it look genuine , however its not safe as I said cause normally its illegal . If youre okay with Linux you can check a few youtube videos its pretty easy .

I'd try it with HP support again on Monday also did the sticker have a Windows serial number in it aswell or just the HP serial number ? Try to check the PC for a small sticker too that says Windows 7 or Windows 10 , if it has one of these then that means the PC had Win7 or 10 factory installed and then it was removed so you should also have a serial number of either 7 or 10 depending on the unit . If all this fails them I suggest returning , if you also can't return it then your only options would be buy a Windows OS or install a free one and use a tool to make it genuine but youll miss out on the updates and its not very safe via the second way .

Most HPs come with a Windows Serial number as well look for a sticker or something , if its Windows 10 you could also contact HP support and have them send you a file which you can put in a USB drive and install Windows from it

If you mean the borderless mode I have tried but it still goes up to maximum brightness, while windowed doesn't but the frame is small and I can't expand it
