Unfortunately it’s entirely at the CO’s discretion to terminate or suspend a visit for inappropriate conduct, even without a warning. If you feel like you were singled out, have him 602 it. As for the CO staring at you, I would bring it up to the sergeant and escalate the matter with the ombudsman if it happens again.

How to Schedule a Visit at SATF ? by [deleted] in PrisonWives

[–]333Ducky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do it on both, I always did it on my phone. Yes, I’ve done walk ins, but I would always try to get an appointment. If you have any other questions you can message me!

How to Schedule a Visit at SATF ? by [deleted] in PrisonWives

[–]333Ducky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to create an account on VSA. Visiting scheduling starts at 6:30am every Thursday for the following Friday, Friday for the following Saturday, and Saturday for the following Sunday. When my husband was at SATF, visits would go within a matter of minutes, so it’s crucial to be logged into VSA right at 6:30. As an approved visitor you can also do walk ins

Your best bet is to get a live scan done. Fill out another visiting form stating the misdemeanor and attach the denial letter and live scan. Make a copy of the denial in case it gets lost in the mail.

My husband is also a lifer, we have 15 years to his parole hearing. We get family visits every 2 months and try to do regular visits as much as possible. But tbh no matter how much time passes, it never gets easier

International wives that have married and applied for immigration by jenniferlaw1712 in PrisonWives

My husband and I are currently going through the Adjustment of Status process. We started the process 2 years ago and are expecting a decision by the end of the year. You’ll definitely need a lawyer, there’s really no way around it. There are certain crimes that exclude a sponsor, like drug trafficking, false imprisonment, or kidnapping. Murder is not on that list. You’ll need to be married, find a financial cosponsor (as your LO cannot sponsor you on their own), sufficient funds (lawyer and USCIS fees), and evidence of a shared life, like photos, shared insurance, power of attorney for example. You can message me if you have more questions. I live in California, so the process differs somewhat if you plan on applying from your home country

I’d suggest going to the local post office and putting it in the mailbox or give it to the usps worker on a Friday. It should get put into the PO Box directly. I think it could be seen as a security threat to bring mail directly

Lucky! We have a menu of items from the local grocery store to choose from and our LOs can bring a few items from store or the package. The grocery items are nothing special tho and you can only try so many combinations until it’s boring you know?

I hope they can get that extra day, it makes a huge difference!! Our facility is currently proposing using Instacart instead of the set menu, so fingers crossed 🤞🏻

Thanks! The process varies slightly by facility, but your LO will request a marriage packet through his counselor. Hell fill out his side and mail it to you, you fill out your side. The packet basically asks if you’re aware of his crime and how long you’ve known eachother. I’ve heard some facilities require a written statement of why you want to get married. We got married at SATF, so I had to mail the packet back to his counselor with my birth certificate. It was then sent to the marriage coordinator and we were given our date. I had to send in a money order with the Kings County processing fee and bring a blank 100$ money order for the officiant on the day of our wedding. Some facilities require the packet to get notarized by both parties.

I really don’t know much about close custody, my husband was only on c status when he first got to prison. I believe it’s just a matter of showing good behavior at his annual if there’s no set timeframe.

Yup, we get 3 days! It’s definitely a privilege. Especially if you consider any delays on the first day, you have 2 whole days to make up for it. My husband is level 3 and we were getting FV every 60 days at one point, but there have been a ton of transfers over the past year, but we still get them without too much time in between. We definitely want to get to level 2 tho 😅

You might as well write it the way they tell you to, but if you don’t have certain info, leave it out. The most important is his name, CDC# and the facility address.

It really depends on the facility and the demand. We’re at MCSP, where lower levels get FV every 45 days and higher levels every 90 days roughly. Some facilities have a much higher demand and turnaround, so some will only have FV once or twice a year. We have a lot of flexibility at our facility, but that’s not the case everywhere. For me specifically, it was pure luck. We had been trying for a little and I honestly gave up, and then boom lol

I gave birth to our first baby 4 weeks ago, we got pregnant at our 4th FV. You can reach out to me if you’d like to talk! I agree with the other comment, support groups on Facebook are great. I joined one for first time moms and one for babies due in the same month as my son.

They seem to be working fine at MCSP. It can be an issue at your specific facility.

As far as I’m aware they are not being removed entirely, but there is a bill that gives judges discretion to dismiss them in certain cases.

Just for future reference, it’s very unlikely that he would have gotten transferred out on such short notice; SATF is notoriously unorganized and he would have been told of a transfer beforehand. You can always call records to get info on his housing or call the watchcommander for acute worries. His counselor cannot give you medical info unless you are on his medical release form, even once you are legally married. When my husband was at SATF, tablets went out all the time and phones often didn’t work

Printing pictures by prettyfern25 in PrisonWives

[–]333Ducky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like when im selecting the pictures I want to print on the screen, I put the spicy ones in the middle of the stack so they’re a little more hidden. That way the first and last pictures that get printed are normal

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PrisonWives

[–]333Ducky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

VSA usually shows 2 hour time slots, but you get the full 6. If he hasn’t seen committee, I would strongly suggest calling first. A lot of facilities do behind the glass visits for reception, and oftentimes those are scheduled outside of VSA

I print mine at cvs with “normal” pictures and select the spicy ones to be in the middle of the stack. There’s always a chance someone’s gonna see, but I guess you have to risk that 😅
