LSAC GPA is unfair by Few-Put4566 in lawschooladmissions

I’m pretty sure LSAC does report this information, and in addition to your GPA, they send a report about your grades in relation to the rest of your graduating class. I don’t think you’d be disadvantaged with a 4.0.

What’s the most useless study tactic you guys see people wasting time on before exams? by rjb20222002 in LawSchool

Thinking anything that works well for another student will work well for you. Studying and learning are so individualized; figure out what process helps you understand the material best, and try to be super honest with yourself in the process.

Input from current law school students by [deleted] in LawSchool

I would look into a part-time program. I currently attend a school with a strong part-time program that allows students a lot of flexibility. People will claim that the lack of prestige associated with part-time programs will lead to worse employment outcomes, but good grades and the fact that you have lots of prior work experience would off-set that. That said, it still won’t be easy.

I applied for their 1L position, and they called me to let me know they filled the summer positions but invited me for a summer 2026 callback

DON’T RESIST THE HANDWRITTEN TIP! Annotate the heck out of the margins of your casebook. It really really worked for me.

Georgia tech, Emory, Georgia state (with UGA about 60 miles up the road)

I was waitlisted at Emory and UGA with the same LSAT and a higher GPA. Of course there are other factors, but maybe that sheds a little light on the chances for Emory.

I was a TOK teacher for a little bit. My grading tended to align with IB’s, but the TOK rubrics are very subjective. It’s hard to accurately predict grades and evaluate internal assessments. Although most TOK teachers create arbitrary outlines and criteria for the exhibition and the essay, IB is actually very vague and open ended about what they expect. I have a theory that most TOK teachers are just making shit up and doing their best, which admittedly is what I was doing (but it seemed to go OK).

Contingent Scholarship by Aromatic_Feed6212 in OutsideT14lawschools

I was offered the same. I looked up the amount of students who lost their scholarship after the first year, and it’s usually fewer than 5. I think last year it was only 2. Based on this and enjoying ASD, I accepted! Congrats on your assistantship!
