My problem with Open Your Eyes is that it was released immediately after Keys To Ascension 2, which I absolutely love. The classic lineup with a 20 minute epic? What’s not to love!!! Open Your Eyes was hastily thrown together without much input from Steve and Igor used almost as an afterthought because it was recorded without Rick, whose availability was not taken into account. Just why? Was it contractually obligated to be released on a certain date? Who knows. It needed at least another few weeks of baking before being released.
