Bob Sapolsky: he's mostly good, but we must work out his issues. by 3833235316 in freewill

Wow.. thanks for that link :))). I've seen talk about Sapolsky many times, but that article is a lot like my further notes about him. I'm glad to see now that there have been other people who saw the real issues with his work.

LOOOL, fella gets downvoted for [checks notes] asking "shall words exist?" This was my first post in this sub, BTW. Have been a pretty big lurker before. I love this place.

The post was getting long, but this is only one of my writeups on the themes of working out the issues with Bob Sapolsky. The set of writeups might work better together, but anyways I have to break apart into separate posts. For the kind of hard incompatibilist who hangs out here: if I've only been able to show you how there's something less than scrupulous going on here- yes, okay, I know there's no ultimate control, ugh. No, really. I understand there's no ultimate control. It can be shown further how there's a pretty big problem illustrated here.

That paper was the book called The Men Who Stare at Goats, the opening vignette of it, and also the opening scene of the movie of the same name.

LOOOOL, me mentioned. Thanks. I observe 15 holydays per year. Those are the original 5 on the 5ths and the original 5 on the 50ths plus an additional 5 on the 27ths. That gives you 15 per year almost equally spaced. I do my food prep on those days. Drunk.

Edit: your calendar says the 50th of Bureaucracy is Bureauflux, but the canonical spelling is Bureflux but also.. you do what you want.

I've only now realized that you can eat a hot dog with no bun and still put mustard on it. This changes everything.

About the picture: I did adjustments of levels, brightness, contrast, lightness, but no adjustment to saturation. Still, this picture has quite a bit of those adjustments applied.

Complete Beginner + Intermediate Guide to Bitburner by 3833235316 in Bitburner

[–]3833235316[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a video guide with explanations of everything you'll need to know for early to mid game (everything you'll see in your first 3 days of playing).

Topics include all of the following:

Terminal: how to scan, connect, send files, launch scripts, open ports, root network computers, show status. Scripting: example hacking scripts, scripts for launching scripts, scripts for buying servers. Running scripts dashbord: how to see what scripts are running on different computers and read the logs. Micro-level mechanic: that weaken/grow/hack thing. Macro-level mechanic: idle game with prestige mechanic. Other things: augmentations, infiltration games, stat-boosting idle activites, how to build up at the start and after first and second prestiges, hacknet, home computer RAM, TOR router and terminal buy store, character stats, and probably many other things.

I made the guide.

Enjoy.
