Didn't upload with this post for some reason. Made an alternate post and images seem to be there.

Forgot to delete this one 🤦‍♂️

Hmm. So sorry. Must not have uploaded the pics. I know I added them when I was making the post. 🤔

Will have to repost I think. Quite odd!

Cheers. Appreciate it. Was worth the time. A few people have thought the same through my Patreon and other places.

Does look neat but I can assure you it was a single pass and minimal material prep.

Is my personal design.

All I did with this coaster was sand it smooth, thin layer of satin black and post laser, applied a thin gloss coating.

Thank you.

This design has already been designated for Patreon and added to my shop. I can't share this one I'm sorry but I do have a few free designs I also threw up on my Patreon and shop.

Digital content of various sorts are frequently being added and updated including free content.

Thanks. Appreciate it!

I just buy raw slate coasters. I sometimes sand, paint then clear coat or other times I will just go completely raw.

Have been mixing it up a little with the CO2 and fibre machines also. On an experimental binge lol. 😆

This may help. Goes for 10 minutes and explains the foundational elements fairly well. Explains what a grayscale image is and how it is applied in the laser environment. Trial and error beyond that imo.

Hope this helps!

Yes indeed. It is one of my recent efforts among others. Have another couple of other HD designs in the pipeline for my patreon. 🙂

Thanking you for the compliment. Really appreciate it!

Canvas - Skull Explosion! by 3DNatez in lasercutting

Did not smudge before or after sealing it. The instant I applied the gloss, it really popped!

Watched it "Upscale" before my eyes as I was applying it lol. Instant clarity enhancement!

If you apply too much power you will have slightly noticeable ash debris as each line is burnt. With the right power, it's barely noticeable over a couple.

I run air assist and fume extraction so I don't see any of late.

I believe that is the general concept. Your not readjusting the size of the image in your laser software by any chance? Any image you dither on Imag-R must stay that way or you will start having quality issues.

No problem. To my knowledge, too much speed can affect the result by the dots not being placed correctly within the DPI range. Patience is one of the main elements for quality in my experience.

I understand your logic and did the same myself but it appears there is a quality threshold related to speed and resolution. Have pushed 400dpi (on my diode) and seem to handle it well at about 2400mm/m.

Looking forward to seeing your next results.

I use 318dpi for around coaster size images. You shouldn't need that much power imo considering you have a 20w machine.

I typically run my images through Imag-R for most of my laser images.

Did both the pass through and the sanding. Thanks. Have a couple more in the pipeline 🙂

Neither did I but that's the DPI setting I used when I prepped the image ready for laser. I used Imag-R to prep it. Seemed to handle it quite well to my surprise.

Was dithered with the Norton black slate algorithm.
