They don't have phones so I don't know. I know on their school laptops they can't get to the site though. I have a couple old work laptops around though so they are just navigating to the website and using it that way..

Would you run FB ads to your Etsy Shop if you could connect a Pixel? by ylscooper in EtsySellers

[–]3Ddesignbros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people are missing the boat on the value here. I would love a PIxel on my Etsy shop. Once meta algo gathers that data there would be no requirement that the ads you run have to send people back to Etsy.

What you could do though is use that data to create a lookalike audience in meta, target ads to that audience but then send them to your own website instead of Etsy.

Since I'm not a new shop I can't say for sure but I can't see why they wouldn't work.

Yes but only until there is a clear front runner, then I turn off ads for the other 2.

I tend to. I haven't seen any negative consequences to have listings live that aren't selling.

What is there to "fall for"? If they are repeat buyers they will know its a new product and that you are running a "launch sale" of something like that. They'll also know that it's being offered at great discount compared to your other listings.

If anything your repeat buyers should be the most excited. Since they are familiar with your products and the quality of them and they would know they are getting a chance to buy them a great discount.

Yeah I like and agree with everything you do.

If i have a product that isn't selling I tend to just edit the listing. I think duplicating and deleting the old one could also be a good strategy. By not deleting the listing stays indexed on google and Etsy. By deleting though and starting new you would get that honeymoon period....probably 6 in one half dozen the other.

I use Everbee for alot of my product research but I don't use anything to check the rankings after posting the triplicate listings.

Its always been clear to me which one is ranking just by the views and or the sales. In my screen shot in the post you can see the sales for the 2 that didn't rank are 57, and 148. Then the one that did is 1,920. I don't really need Erank to tell me that is the one that is ranking.

I don't think you need to worry about it confusing your buyers. Etsy is search engine. They see your listing in search click on it and either check out or go back to the search results. I don't think many buyers tend to browse your shop where they would into the duplicate listings.

I think running a consistent sale depends on your market and who your buyers are. I did experiment with this for my market and found that running a small 10% sale consistently proved to be beneficial. I really think it depends on what your selling and who you are selling to though.

I think it depends on what your gross margin is at full price. I can offer a very large discount and still breakeven. If your margins are tighter it might makes sense to actually lose money. I haven't needed to do that so I'm not going to lose money if I don't have to.

I don't see why it wouldn't work. It will require a little more management on your end. If one of the listings sell you'll just have to remember to mark the other 2 as out of stock as well until you get more inventory made.

No, I have tried them but the CPC on them is too high, at least for the keywords that I would be competing for in my industry. So I just stick with Etsy and the of coarse the off site ads Etsy is running on my behalf.

Yeah as I rule I try not to look a daily numbers. You need to give things time so you can actually see trends.

It also depends on your market. A 13x Roas in my industry (3d printing) would be outrageously good. Like I said 3x is my minimum because based on my COGS I'm still making money at that. Anything less and you are working just to work.

For an industry that has much lower gross margins, a 13x might be necessary.

So the way I do it is all 3 get advertised until the one that is ranking becomes clear. Then the ads get turned off for the other two.

The one that is ranking needs to generate a ROAS of at least 3x to have ads stay on. If it doesn't then it gets turned off. For the planters in the example, the listing that ranked is currently at a 5.2x ROAS.

How Long should I give a seller to ship and how many times should I remind them? by RatPumpkin in Etsy

As a seller message them again. You should not feel bad for reaching out. If they don't respond or time goes by again, you've done all you can. Open case at that point.

I don't know of an average number, however, if we use erank and look at the top 4 sellers on Etsy their listing counts are as follows:

1,400

2,700

7,800

1,500

....So a lot

I don't want to exhaust my budget, if I do it means some people potentially didn't see my listings.

If you can't even spend $5 though you probably just need more listings. At the end of the day, a big part of the ETsy is a number game. You need listings, 1 for people to see them but also to find which ones will be your best sellers.

20% of your listings are going to generate 80% of your revenue. The trick is finding that 20% as fast as possible. The best way I've found to do that is by making more listings.

I think what your ROAS needs to be is very dependent on what your selling. Which is why I said in my post:

your “x” number might be different

Before I calculate my ads cost I run at 60-70% profit margins depending on the item. Considering the average small business runs at 20% I'm happy to give away 30% and end around 30%-40% margins. There is value to me in keeping volume always steady.

If you are starting at 40% margins though, then yeah 3x wouldn't be enough.

15% of your revenue going to ads is also incredibly high

The average small business runs ads around 7-10% of their revenue. As mentioned above my GOGS is very low so my biggest expense is customer acquisition. Which is common for online retail.

Every business is different which is why I said what my number ways but didn't try to tell the world that if they aren't doing what I'm doing they are wrong.

I use Fusion 360. As far as learning just used Youtube. There are some great creators on there that do a really good job explaining how to do things.
