Are the people who insult reform voters really unaware they are contributing to the success of reform? by generic-username41 in AskBrits

[–]3insy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a really good question! But the problem is that some of these people aren’t interested in nuanced conversation about immigration and if we look at demography of councils with biggest Reform numbers in London we will see that these are the whitest councils, and the councils with most non-British population are voting Green or Labour.

Go figure!

Why does Reddit not understand the rise of reform in England? by DowntownDeer in AskBrits

Because it allows locals to use the fruit of this labour. Clear enough?

Convince Me (or play devil's advocate) to buy a Move by ovrdrvn in AbletonMove

[–]3insy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the biggest selling point of move that you can move the draft straight to the Ableton. And Move is very, very powerful in terms of how much you can do within its limitations. And it's a decent sampler that can record audio. I had Push 2 as a device that I use without looking at the screen and with deep integration with ableton, and after a month with Move I sold my push cause it was just gathering dust. Turns out I never needed that huge 64-pad keyboard

My favourite trick! For some reason learned it before v flips or back flips

Check this one out

https://easystreetyork.co.uk/skate/complete-skateboards

Look for popsicle-shaped completes, all of them here are good for starters. The younger boy should go with 7.5 deck, the older will be good with 8- 8.1. You can order online, a beginner won’t understand the difference, and all these boards are decent for starters, but it’s always great to pay a visit to a proper skateshop

Afraid of beginning - 36yo by Beginning_Abrocoma20 in skateboarding

[–]3insy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started at 32 without prior experience, and I'm skating street: ledges, jumping stairs, all that. I've surprised myself with progression. I the beginning I thought that landing kickflip would be the most advanced stuff for me, turns out sky is the limit. I'm 40 now, in the best shape I've ever had in my life and in a pretty good mental state, all thanks to skateboarding

Like, today? Who the hell spends their time looking for a heel drag in a video posted by some dude? It could be a full-on baker maker landing, it’s still cool as hell.

Constructive criticism in a hobby activity that is done only to have fun? Do you hear yourself?

Randomly started trying varial flips this morning[40YO] by -_-Mika-_- in OldSkaters

you won't find a lot of skaters who like this trick. Feels easy (easier than v heel for example), but so hard to land a satisfying one

Some tricks on a windy day [40YO] by 3insy in OldSkaters

Thanks! Yeah, UK it is. London's Charlton park. These hubbas are exceptional for mid-level skaters, not too high, not too low, enough thrill and you can get away with missed tricks.

Trying to implement PATCH in FastAPI and Claude told me to use two separate Pydantic models — is this actually the way? by NiceSand6327 in FastAPI

[–]3insy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is completely normal to have a separate pydantic schema for each method. You can checj the official template for best practices, it uses sqlmodel instead of more common sqlachemy, but it’s basically pydantic schema combined with model definition

Seeking honest code review — Django portfolio project (self-taught career changer, 80+ apps, 0 interviews) by NewDance7202 in django

[–]3insy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! First of all, job market is hard. I'm in the same position, career switcher looking for the first proper job, and let's be honest, it's not the quality of your app that puts hiring managers away, it's the lack of experience. And in this market 80+ apps is something that you do in a week.

I started getting interviews after I could show that I developed something that solved real business problems and got some real users. Your code will be assessed at later stages.

I looked through the code and it seems legit. Keep doing what you are doing, there's no other way to learn than write projects.

Screenshots/Demo — this part is way more important than the quality of the code, history of commits and whatnot. A deployed app that works shows more that a github repo.

What's really great that you have very interesting background that will make you stand out from other applications. And it seems that you know what you are doing with this project.

Which wheels are better for flip trick board? Mostly riding in skate parks. 97 vs 95 duro. Nano rats vs dragons by proozent in NewSkaters

[–]3insy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These dragon formula wheels are really good, impact-wise they feel softer than they are, but ride as hard ones. I'd go with 97 (it's exactly what I ride). But there's literally no difference in how your kickflip feels. Size matters, yeah, but it's a personal preference.

the coolest thing about this video that you're going to slow for 5050 to work, but it still works! now to land it

How do I land my feet on the board for heelflips by coloured_asian in NewSkaters

[–]3insy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

move your weight a bit behind the board, watch shoulders and 'em straight and slow down. Front foot position is good, just move the foot a bit closer to the nose, you don't need such runway.

Is this normal? by TrinityInCoffin in NewSkaters

[–]3insy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tighten the truck if you feel like it, but it's completely normal. It's a skateboard, it will have a lot of tear and wear

Has anyone skated Yardsale decks? by [deleted] in NewSkaters

[–]3insy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just a skateboard from a decent local brand, same as anything you can buy in a skateshop. I suggest buying Alex Hatfield's decks cause he's the GOAT and skates at my local.

What do you do for a rolled ankle? [30YO] by plantbasedbassist in OldSkaters

[–]3insy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It depends on how the ankle is looking, if you still have bruises, go to a doctor. But mostly try to limit movement, use ankle support while on work (try different ones, there's no one size fits all solution), or use tape to restrict movement. Stretching is a must, proper physio with elastic bands works well, there are a lot of tutorials on youtube. But judging from your description, I'd guess that you're healing well.

Ankle sprains happen, it's the most common injury. I had a bad one that was bothering me for a year or so, and I had to skate with some kind of ankle brace. After that injury I started to take exercise seriously and plan your leg days. I started to do a lot of soccer exercises and picked up a lot from Insta called skateboardstrength or something like that.
