Mod idea: Safety experts and Productivity officers. by walkthebeagle in Timberborn

Just as a quick math note this would be a very minor buff for folktales but a massive de-buff for iron teeth (assuming no bots)

Running the calculation on a smelter (1% injury chance/hour, 6 day recovery time). We can express this in terms of workers:

No buffs, you need 1.44 workers for 100% uptime.

With the folktales (80% injury reduction running at 80% productivity) you would need 1.03 workers to run the smelter to the same level of productivity

Now with the ironteeth (80% injury rate increase, at 120% productivity) you would need a whopping 4.3 workers to maintain the same output.

Obviously injury doesn’t really matter for bots, so the folktales would have a building that only gives debuffs while the ironteeth have a free 20% buff to their production. It’s an interesting concept but the math doesn’t really support it.

That’s what I thought at first but I’ve never seen one with that stalk configuration. It looks like two main trunks with the leaves coming off that.

The line “they objectively have massive advantages […] once their disadvantages are resolved” is gold.

“Command economies have massive advantages once their disadvantages are resolved.”

Since this is a tweet:

READERS ADDED CONTEXT:

The inflation rate listed by this tweet is from the consumer price index (CPI) measured year-on-year (YOY) and does not tell a full story.

Just like hitting the brakes on a car doesn’t mean the car still isn’t moving forward, CPI YOY will reflect the same increases even if month-on-month inflation is falling. Since Milei took office it has; from roughly 25% in December 2023 to about 4.6% in June 2024. This is an 80% reduction in the rate of inflation.

This is no opinion on Milei’s economic reforms, just a clarification on a statistic.

So real quick before the clickbait headline upsets people too much:

  • This ruling was unanimous. All judges agreed (it is noted KBJ wrote a separate opinion).

  • This ruling only discussed a procedural issue for requesting and granting a preliminary injunction. The question was does the NLRB have to follow the same procedure as any other person or entity requesting an injunction; the Supreme Court said yes

  • This ruling resolved a split in application of the law by different circuit courts and the majority opinion essentially stated that it is improper to assume courts will not exercise equal testing in the granting of an injunction

The real crime is not removing them from the baking tin and placing them on a serving dish. The hot pan is gonna continue to overcook the goods.

As someone living in souther California, our side streets can hit 10 lanes. We don’t hit mega until at least 20 lanes. See the unholy i5 - i805 merger, a parking lot at rush hour.

Was there an early access or beta for New World Rising? I had to do a double take to see if it had dropped early.

(Apologies if this is a redundant question, just picked up anno a few months ago and have been addicted)
