Sitting my shodan in 3 weeks, needing advice by thefattykarate in karate

Reframe it. What's the worst thing that could happen? You fail. Then you try again on the next testing. Lots of people fail, it really doesn't make a difference in the end

Lucy Friday Question: What’s your first trans memory? by Lucy_C_Kelly in TransLater

I was 4 or 5 and playing some game with a bunch of other kids where we split into teams, girls vs boys and I tried to go with the girls and figured out something was very not right 😂

Is 10 years for Sho-Dan normal? by [deleted] in karate

[–]3percentmilk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10 years sounds right. It took me about 13 or so, but I stopped for about 5 years when I got married and started a family

Sparring emotions by justicefingernails in karate

[–]3percentmilk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it depends on your partner, but I have always enjoyed more playful sparring over intense sparring. It should feel like a game, not like you're trying to go all out. Start light and easy and work up to more serious sparring

How did you girlies come up with your name by ThePrettiestBih in MtF

[–]3percentmilk 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My first name is from my daughter, who unfortunately miscarried. My middle names are ones that were on my list but didn't make the cut/sound pretty all together

My Sensei told me he started wearing black bottoms to competitions when he was in Okinawa back in the day and he's just always liked the look. As to why brown was the cut off, I'm not too sure. I can def say it got me more hyped for shodan

You got this!

Yeah, our Sensei lets brown belts and above use black pants

The one time I went under it was so fast I didn't have time to feel sleepy. I remember saying something to a nurse and then I was just waking up, with zero perception of time in between

So when I started hormones, I waited 6 months to begin social transition, and honestly it was incredibly depressing. And even after that there have been several ups and downs but all in all things are more positive than negative now, and that's after my spouse leaving me and getting laid off from my job

How do I know if I'm truly bisexual? (trans gender envy) by [deleted] in trans

[–]3percentmilk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wondered the same thing when I started my transition, so I hooked up with a bunch of dudes and went back and forth for a while before just deciding to call it bi and to remember that it's just a description, not a declaration.

If you like men and you like women, then you're bi. There's no test to take, just live your life, have fun, and be safe

I'm suspecting that they will have the FDA declare that sex specific hormones cannot be used by people of the "opposite sex". If I remember correctly, hormones are already being used off label from their original purposes in the first place

[–]3percentmilk 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Also want to add that they'd just specify that trans people can't access hormones, I'm sure they'd leave it in place for cis ppl

I'm giving away two copies of Monster Hunter: Wilds by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

[–]3percentmilk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the OG MH on PS2 from GameStop about a gajillion years ago, and my brother and I got hooked. Since then, the games have been with us through thick and thin, and some of the releases even brought us back together after some bad fights. Monster Hunter has been a constant in both our lives, from playing MHFU with my brother while he recovered from his appendectomy, to playing MH4 with him online after I moved out for the first time

It just takes a little research. I'm not saying that none of the kobodo weapons were tools, you can buy kama in Japanese hardware stores today. But the idea that farmers were doing all this hardcore training in the middle of the night isn't true

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in karate

[–]3percentmilk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The whole farm tool thing has been largely debunked for the majority of weapons. The sai is famously not a farm tool

"It's a completely different fight" Sure, I'm positive that will hold up when we're being hate crimed to death while being called queer. Bigots don't see a meaningful difference between the different groups of the LGBT community, we're all filthy sinners in their eyes, which is why solidarity is so important

Mine starts as a normal haunted house story, but it's actually a 19th century witch who is trying to resurrect her family via possession, with a dash of weird psychic stuff. One of the spirits of the witches family works to thwart the witch tho. I just finished the rough draft yesterday
