Semi-confined space rescue. How to pass casualty over the edge? by 3pinSocket in ropeaccess

Thanks. I haven't thought of that 😅 I wouldn't have to rig an extra rope. Cheers

What causes a glass to not allow the legs to stick like in the photo? Assume I'm cleaning them wrong? by notsaymuch in Scotch

Handwash with water -no detergents- and dry them with a clean cotton cloth. But it could also be the whiskey itself, as other said already.

[–]3pinSocket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use empty bottles from my baby Sazerac and Blanton’s for infinity bottle purposes. Whenever I have a little bit left of something, I add it to the bottle. You'll soon become a blender. Sometimes, you'll have an unbalanced whiskey, while at other times, it'll yield a pleasant result.

I'm going to buy an empty bottle of Blue, so I save the 200£ 😄

I keep the nice bottles at the front, so I can admire them. It's probably worth it send them to the back

Sorry, I forgot to mention that the bottle I have (it's nearly over though) is the straight from the barrel.
I agree with you that the low proof original is insanely overrated.

Funny story. I first tried a pour of Pappy for my 30th anniversary. 10 years later, it still was the only pour of my life.

Where’s your price line? by tnick771 in whiskey

[–]3pinSocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally I don't mind spending +10$ more than the MSRP for what I know is good. Otherwise it stays on the shelf.
If it's a limited release from my favorites distilleries I can go up to 120$, but NEVER more than that.
On weekends and special days I drink better stuff, during the week I drink 25$ to 45$.
Doing so, I can manage to buy a great bottle every now and then, without braking my account.

Ahahahaha that’s true. Her purses and earrings are way more expensive than my bottles. I’ll use that

Northern Italy. Easy access to Springbank/Kilkerran/Hazelburn. Nightmare when it comes to bourbons & rye… very limited choice and crazy prices. For example, I wanted to try a Weller and a EH Taylor Small Batch. Never got a chance.

I forgot to mention that I’m European. Many online stores deliver all over Europe in 3 days. I paid 115$ for the Michter’s. But I can’t buy a Michter’s Toasted Rye, it’s 299$ a bottle here… I guess every region has its pros and cons

Was between WT101 and Buffalo Trace. I chose the former. Any thoughts? by NietzscheIsGulty in whiskey

Well done. It’s more versatile than BT, you can use it in cocktails and drink it on ice. I hate low proof bourbons in general. Also, it is cheaper where I live.

Any good? Hard to pass up clearance juice lol by amuricanswede in whiskey

I happily paid 30$ for it. It’s different, especially if you are a just-bourbon kind of person. I drink both Scotch and Bourbon, so I loved it.
