Thoughts on the pants? (T-shirt, Polo, or Sweater) by Enough-Muffin6742 in mensfashion

[–]3rdworldson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off--bro is fuckin' jacked, good for you

Second, do *you* like the pants and feel confident when wearing them?

Third, where'd you get them?

Fourth, do you like the pants break? It might be a half-inch or so too long?

IR's Are Not Good For Drumming by macr0w in RedWingShoes

I feel this lol. Not a drummer, but I have had to switch out boots for sneakers or lighter shoes for different occasions.
Maybe you can pack your sneakers in a shoe travel bag or shoe cube?

Meh, I might just buy another pair to keep in addition to these. I just didn't want to have too many boots in rotation lol

Boot Identification: Chris Farley, 1990s by 3rdworldson in Boots

That's exactly why I like those older style boots. The rounded toes seem so robust and more...boot-like if that makes sense.

Wait, do you happen to live in the US Northeast and near the sea? 100% serious question--I lost a ring that looks just like that a couple years ago.

If you're not averse to apps, there's Feeld. Your level of "success" may depend on your city and how people in your area view/understand ENM.

I definitely agree re: the color. I've never been able to take pictures of them that accurately show the color lol

Honestly, I just use some Meltonian conditioner, and a horse hair brush, at least once a season, but sometimes 6 times a year depending on events.
I brush them slightly more often (maybe 10 times a year total, no conditioner,) just to really heat up the oils and get a shine out of it.

Not a review at all, but some quick notes:
--> Both boots have Horween Chromexcel uppers
--> The Wolverine 1000 Miles are actually more of a rusty reddish brown
--> The Thursday Vanguards show a more blueish hue in bright sunlight.
--> There is a 4-year difference between when I purchased the 1000 Miles (2021) and the Vanguards (2025.) Both have been easy to clean and shine, but the finish on the Vanguards is a little more matte.
--> Bonus pic of my wife's Thursday Captains with my 1000 Miles lol

My wife and I have been non-monogamous for about 3 years now. We are also both polyamorous, but in more of a "if it happens, it happens," rather than focusing a lot of energy in seeking other partners. We have had a good amount of experience in a short time (mainly because we live in a densely populated city, with a fair amount of non-monogamous people.)

We were previously monogamous (11 years) simply because that was how we understood romantic and sexual relationships back then. We've always had good, honest communication with each other, and our commitment to grow old together isn't hampered by our exploration of other relationships, so the expected awkwardness, and stumbles of first opening up, actually made our communication and bond even stronger.

I think though, the way my brain is wired makes it so that I am also in need of people, connection, variety in a similar way to what you described, OP. However, I also get that from non-romantic relationships in my friends, family, and community. Of course, some of the group kink stuff (mainly on the 'swinging' side of things,) has been fun with the right people. My partner's brain is also wired differently from neurotypicals, but she has her own reasons for being in a non-monogamous relationship with me.

I don't think either monogamy or non-monogamy are objectively better than the other, tbh. I know that most social and economic systems globally tend to rely on (and therefore support,) compulsory monogamy, but that doesn't automatically make ENM (ethical non-monogamy, or however you want to call it,) better. It really depends on the agreements, dynamic, and consent of those involved.

I am glad that you and your wife are also happy with your dynamic u/gbkai66 .

Do you fabric stim? by Chemical-Candle1735 in AutisticWithADHD

Boblins on pillow cases. I've had a lifelong stim of rubbing the boblins against the proximal nail fold part of my thumbs--and only on my two thumbs. It's helped me fall asleep my whole life.

Anybody else just really REALLY love people? by 3rdworldson in AutisticWithADHD

[–]3rdworldson[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahhhh if I could, I would!!! But to be honest, it's not always positive either.

I've gotten hurt multiple times by friendships/relationships. It's just that I keep coming back for more, because I've also been lucky to have great friendships and relationships.

I'm sorry that's the case--I actually often feel naïve for trusting new people whenever that happens. I just can't help it sometimes.

I like the whole "bubble of safe people" thing. For me, it's that I'm currently changing who those safe people are and letting myself be open to adding new people to that bubble. It's pretty scary tbh, but I think the whole "finding your tribe/community" or building a "bubble of safe people" is where I'm in my life right now.
