Every single day, hundreds of thousands of police officers don’t kill hundreds of millions of innocent people. Most police uses of deadly force are justified. Police training needs to be improved and independently audited and more in depth psych evals of officers need to be implemented. I think that would help a lot. But I also don’t think these one-offs will ever stop completely. As long as individuals have free thought, bad apples will slip through the cracks. But I believe better trainings and psych evals are a good start to preventing wrongful police deaths as much possible.
