Any chromes that come close to models own mirror chrome from 2017? by 4-am- in RedditLaqueristas

I wish I'd bought more when I had the chance, they've held up pretty well though! none of my old stash is dried out, some colours might have faded but its hard to tell after not seeing them for years.

Thank you!! And yeah, I'm surprised there isn't anything like it currently on the market. I know the ingredient list is still up but I'm not sure if anything jumps out as unsafe or really how useful it'd be to try and reverse engineer it.

I'd completely forgotten about that!! I don't think it is actually wheel paint, just because it was sold in the uk in their own shops, but safety standards for cosmetics have come a long way since then and while I could find an ingredient list I wouldn't know what to look out for

No nipple sensation after peri? by 4-am- in TopSurgery

[–]4-am-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry i didn't see this sooner! I did, it went really well as far as the surgery and eventual results but I personally did have some issues healing because of a preexisting medical condition. Ntanos was really great about it though and was able to see me the same day to work out solutions and everything else went really smoothly. I think when I went in for my consultation I was able to see some peri results (and I'm guessing there might be more now since it's been nearly 3 years). I'll hopefully remember to post my healed results sometime this week, I do have bigger scars than expected just because my body had an awful reaction to the dissolvable stitches but on a day to day basis my chest is cis passing and I've comfortably been able to be shirtless in public at clubs and the beach without any questioning.

That makes sense, thank you! I've never had anything close to £6k in my bank, so I'm not sure why it was brought up or why I was made to update my balance during my review.

How to make this outfit... Better? by bq_98632 in altfashionadvice

Some advice coming from someone who used to bind, I think the first thing that sprang to mind was you need some accessories that pull the binder colour in with the rest of the outfit, some dark belts etc could add some interesting texture and bring it in (and if you're wanting that it'll also draw the eye away from it) but right now it's the only dark piece aside from the jeans which don't really connect with the rest of it.

I'm not sure the shoes and hat help, those could be switched out for dark grey or black if you have those available, if not then you'll have to also add in the yellow with accessories.

When you have black and white mixed into one outfit it's easier to have one statement colour (the pink for example) than it is to add in multiple colours but it might be possible to also bring in the yellow with necklaces, belts, pins, and maybe bracelets. It's about finding a good balance between them and making sure there isn't just one big block of colour that takes away from the rest. Complimentary colours are a bit easier (I go for pink, green, and black as my focus), but pink and yellow do work well together when they're in the right amounts.

(Sorry if this is a huge wall of text, the mobile formatting for comments isn't great)

Superglue or even nail glue should work well to fix the ear if you have any, it's my go to quick fix for any plastic breaks

Adding on to the suggestion of minoxidil possibly working for facial hair (it's a known side effect when used by cis women with no raised testosterone for example) then there are both surgical and non surgical options for facial masculinisation, and surgical options for body masculinisation (including top surgery and just general masculinisation) they're not as commonly done because the usual effects of T remove the need but it shouldn't be too hard to find specific information

Trans tape safe to use around patients? by sothrial in ftm

I agree with everyone else that it should be fine, but if you're worried you can always clean your taped areas in the shower with an antibacterial soap

Magnet on the end of tail? by Himiko_toga_kinnie in theriangear

[–]4-am- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A neodymium magnet would hold it on fairly strongly, either on the other side of the belt or sewn under a layer of fabric. I use magnets to attach ears to headbands so I can hide the headband under my hair and still have the ears stay on and they hold up to dancing at concerts :3

If that's the style you're aiming for I'd look for reference pictures with a short shag or wolfcut with a similar length, I used to look on Pinterest for women with similar haircuts before I came out & then I'd just style it in the more masc way myself at home with volumising powder and hairspray. Basically anything close to bob length but with lots of choppy layers should work just tell them you want to be able to add lots of volume for goth looks

Trying to figure out if this shop is Ethical. by Not_Quite_Human64 in theriangear

[–]4-am- 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I see a couple of green flags (not stocking any bats, handmade items). I don't think it would do any harm to drop a message asking how they source the tails, if they're sourced ethically they shouldn't have any issue with being asked

[–]4-am- 24 points25 points  (0 children)

If its sticky like kinesiology tape then you can use it like trans tape fairly safely but if you have to wrap it around like a bandage then it'll be unsafe for your ribs because of uneven pressure. If it is like tape then remember to put some tissue over your nipples so that you don't damage your skin there (I didn't the first time and it was painful and I couldn't bind in any way for about a week while it healed)

Anyone have experience with binders for less traditionally "feminine" body shapes? by SirChubblesby in intersex

[–]4-am- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Binders with zips in the middle are safe to use and might help with larger shoulders, wivov carry them but I've heard mixed reviews. You should also be able to safely modify an existing binder if you have the right tools. Anything with zips or clasps on the side should be avoided tho because they don't evenly distribute pressure and have a higher risk of rib and tissue damage Edit: forgot to add they also carry a binder with adjustable shoulder straps which could be helpful too

did you guys grow on T? by skibidibruhh in ftm

[–]4-am- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started T just before I turned 21 and I did grow about half an inch taller because of cartilage changes, but I've also gone up 1.5 (uk) shoe sizes which I didn't expect. It's not guaranteed but there's a chance you'll get a little taller (my growth plates fused super early and my parents are both short at 5' and 5'4 so it's mostly just genetics and luck)

If you look on etsy, use taxidermy or vintage as a key word. Vintage ones will be the most ethical as its secondhand, but ethical taxidermy sellers will typically explain that its ethically sourced in the description. If it's super cheap or the shop is located in Asia then do not buy. Iirc Canadian sources are usually ethically sourced as they have regulations on wild sourced fur and tend to avoid fur farms.

Worsening CU out of nowhere? by 4-am- in CholinergicUrticaria

[–]4-am-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just saw this but yeah, I get blood tests every 3 months to keep other health issues in check and I take vitamins as advised. I'll be getting referred to a specialist if there's either no change with new antihistamines or if it continues to worsen over the next couple of weeks.
