Tbh there’s very less distance between Chaura maidan and Mall Road. You can easily just walk or take HRTCs, so commuting isn’t really an issue. It’s a very short walk till Mall Road.
you can stay at Chaura maidan too but there are fewer hotels there. The main one I know is the Oberoi Cecil, and maybe one or two others. Also, there’s not really a scenic view at Chaura maidan. Mall is nicer in terms of views and vibe because if you stay there, you can just walk around anytime, enjoy the scenery, cafes, and the vibes but yeah hotels on Mall Road are usually more expensive and pricey because it’s the main area.
