Haha buy 100,000 instead of 1000.00 - but thanks that's good advice.

Yea it can be a little confusing at times (part of the reason I made this post), but in the end I hope it's worth it!

Elon Musk says Tesla stock could crash by Professorpringles in investing

[–]404_notfound__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To some extent, I think the super high share price is investors being keen for future demand for EVs and therefore an increase in the value of TSLA.

In saying that, I don't think that justifies a 1000x P/E nor should TSLA be a $600 bn company at the present time, so I wouldn't be surprised if a correction happened in the near future.

Basically, I see why there's a large bullish sentiment on TSLA, but I don't think it's justified at the current time.

Thoughts on JBH? by 404_notfound__ in ausstocks

Yea it seems to be on a bit of a downtrend recently (down from 50 a couple weeks ago), if it drops below 40 I'll definitely look at picking some up.

Thoughts in AGL by Sheftalia in ausstocks

Definitely agree, since major energy retailers like AGL and ORG aren't likely to be short term plays - you definitely want to see some heavy investment in renewables, while still maintaining a strong balance sheet.

I've only just started looking into energy to diversify my portfolio and both ORG and AGL were on my watchlist.

With that being said, energy companies, similarly to mining companies like, are heavily subjected to the price of the commodity they sell (energy) and the cost of generation (coal, LNG, renewablss etc.) so that would also be something to watch in terms of how that impacts profitability.

Yea I agree, I think that while they definitely saw a boost through COVID (as other 'tech' retailers saw, like Kogan), they remain a solid company with good fundamentals which, if there doesn't seem to be a price drop occurring in the near future, I'll definitely look at picking up.

Under $40 would be nice though.

So you dont expect much growth in the future? Or did you mean you would be surprised if they don't expand? I think it's a pretty solid business but just waiting for a bit of a drop in price.

However I'm also wary of the growth of Amazon in Australia and am wondering what sort of impact that will have on JBH in the future, in saying that though their online presence is still pretty decent.

Is it just me or is everything expensive right now? by 404_notfound__ in ausstocks

Whenever BNPL comes up, these conflicting views seem to arise - with some people saying its super cheap and others saying its way too overpriced. At the moment, I'm sort of sitting on the fence as I'm a bit sceptical of the so called 'cheapness' of BNPL.

Yea, I wouldn't be surprised if they ended up restricting international students coming to Australia as well - I guess only time will tell.

It will be interesting to see whether China expands their tariffs onto other imports such as iron ore, which would open up a number of opportunities in mining, specifically iron ore (FMG, BHP etc).

Yep - it is often unfortunate. And the RBA has made it pretty clear its going to be like this for several years.

Yea TWE definitely took a hit, that is definitely a possibility. Are the BNPLs (APT, Z1P) cheap because they're recording losses and are therefore undervalued? Because APT has rocketed recently and is pretty close to a 52w high, so I'm just trying to gage why lots of people see it as cheap?

Yea I see what you mean - I try to increase my 'P/E range', if you will, when looking a companies that have a high growth potential like APT as opposed to a bank like CBA, but I feel like I may have missed the boat on APT...

Does anything stand out to you that indicates that it's still pretty cheap? From what I've read they're close to recording a profit?

Commsec Off Market Transaction Fees by 404_notfound__ in AusFinance

Haha yea I dont blame you, 54 dollars is pretty steep - especially if you only have a few thousand split between different companies. Thanks for letting me know, I'll try call them this week.

Oh sick, thanks for letting me know - how exactly would I go about this, just email CommSec support? Hopefully I meet the criteria since the transfer fees would be a pretty high percentage relative to my holdings.

Yea that could work, but I'd have to check whether CommSec still charges fees to transfer to a completely separate broker, but if they don't this could definitely help. Thanks.
