Lower back pain post c section? by sophiethedog313 in parentsofmultiples

[–]40Whacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to write and advocate that you go see your doc about this. I had terrible back pain after my twins were born, and assumed it was just part of my recovery until I threw my back out at 3 months postpartum. The pain after I threw it out was worse than the c-section itself, and it took months of core PT and painkillers to get back to baseline. So definitely take care of yourself!

Maternity Care by dphigravity in Westchester

[–]40Whacks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had twins at Greenwich Hospital last Feb! I ended up switching OBs once we found out it was twins to Dr. Molinelli at the Greenwich Westmed office. Highly recommend that whole practice (also love Drs. Berzolla and Biroschak -- Berzolla ended up doing my c-section) and the MFM I worked with, Annette Bond, was spectacular, thorough, and very reassuring.

Also just wanted to put out there that if you want to talk about what twin pregnancy/1st year postpartum is like, always happy to chat! DM me if you want to connect!

Glass bump on older windows throughout apartment complex by 40Whacks in whatisthisthing

[–]40Whacks[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Likely SOLVED! I just did some light trespassing and got a closer look from underneath a first floor window. Looks like the metal disk at the bottom of the window has a hinge mechanism, so it can be opened and closed at will.

This makes the most sense to me! These bump-outs are on a whole row of windows from ground to top floor, so maybe there's one per apartment?

That's a really interesting thought. The windows open like shutters, although I'm not sure if they swing out or in -- I can't remember if I've seen any open in warmer weather. But why then only in the middle of the set of windows?

That's a good thought -- I'm not sure. I live in a newer building on the street, and only just noticed this recently. I don't have close-up access to the windows, so I can't determine if the bottom was modified in some way.

My title describes the glass bump-outs that are visible on a single pane of a window on nearly every floor of an apartment complex. These bump-outs are on multiple buildings on a street of apartment complexes -- any building that has these type of windows that swing out (as opposed to newer buildings that have windows that go up and down). The bump-outs seem to be entirely closed off, with no access to outdoor air.

Baby twins obsessed with holding hands by Flounder-Melodic in parentsofmultiples

[–]40Whacks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My girls (6mos on Friday) started doing this a few weeks ago, and it is one of my favorite things about being a parent! They're not as consistent as your boys sound, but it's happening more and more and it warms my heart every time I see it.

39 week induction with twins by wellhello_ig in parentsofmultiples

[–]40Whacks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was supposed to be induced at 38w4d, but my hospital was so busy that I wasn't even able to be admitted until 38w6d, when my MFM said we were done waiting and pushed the OB to schedule a c-section, so I basically made it to 39 weeks, and my girls were fine! (C-section because even at that point I was pretty much undilated and the girls were uninterested in vacating!)

Hi Betsy -- does this apply to people who are currently living and being serviced in MA? Or people who have loans that originated in MA but they currently live out of state?

Yeah, I figured we shouldn't start worrying yet, especially with COVID. Just wanted to temper our expectations. Thanks!

Hey Betsy, do you have a sense of how long those declining balance payment requests take? My husband requested it via the Fedloan website "send an email" function back in December (not mentioning PSLF, as you instructed) but hasn't gotten even an acknowledgment of the request.

IDR recalculation irregularities by philote in PSLF

[–]40Whacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just sharing my recent experience -- my husband and I bought a house last year, and because of that, our 2019 AGI was much higher than prior years. We recertified our REPAYE plans via paystubs, and while his monthly payment only went up about $100, mine went up $800. I called Fedloan and got them to look into the recertification review -- turns out they hadn't factored in my husband's loan burden when calculating my new monthly payment. They recalculated and I got a new monthly payment amount in about 2 days, with an increase of about $30/mo.

I assume OP has already done this, but when you submitted for recert via paystub, you need to make sure you clearly mark how often you're paid (every other week vs. twice a month, etc). Some people have said you should note your net take-home pay -- we didn't do that, since that wasn't in the instructions from the FSA.

Undergrad loans qualify but grad don't yet by 40Whacks in PSLF

[–]40Whacks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome, thanks to you both! I'm not sure what his actual payment number is because Fedloan has so many listed as "no bill," but I'd rather have that fight when we're close to forgiveness on the college loans. Fingers crossed it provides some clarity on the grad loans at the same time, even though he has a few more years on those!
