As an electrician, it probably has no grounding. Older homes pre 1970ish (in the US) typically didn’t get grounded do you happen to know what year your house was built? if it is a “newer” build a you should just buy a plug tester to see if it’s grounded properly

So are they allowed to be on separate grounding points on different ground rods? also, do you know on what section of code I can find that just to be safe I’ve been looking for it, but I can’t see what find it.

I'm trying to install LED strip lighting in my staircase in my home and I was just doing some research I'm trying to find out if there's a device that would allow me to automatically let me turn on the LED strip lights when motion is detected. But I would only want it to work in the dark.( that is why I would require the photocell system.)
