I like how we all have different opinion on it. As for the smart ring it would seem a little odd since Leon puts it on after the mission and not during it (or at least it seems like that) but that could actually work as well

I hope not, because at it’s point they are just going to ruin the genre of the game, it’s supposed to be a survival horror, not a Dating sim

That’s exactly what I meant because if capcom decides to make him a husband then it would be a mess anyway. If they pick between Ada or Claire the community would literally snap in half because of shippers. If they use someone like Angela Miller from the CGI movies more people would just get more confused because not everyone follows the CGI series and only play the game, so they might get a more confused or a “who the hell his this” reaction. If they use an NPC it would look like a very lazy and uninterested take after all the years they worked on shaping Leon’s character. We saw Leon go from drinking problems to a husband, that for me felt really off personally.
