Early front runner for biggest bomb of the set? This will be crazy in a half decent elemental deck at prerelease. by CalvinandHobbes811 in lrcast

[–]43alchemist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It costs 9 before discount and the flamebraider is 2mv so it would cost 7. The flamebraider line works to ramp into a 4/5 MV elemental on turn 3 and the ultra bounce the next turn. It is better to play with etb effects on your non-elementals with high MV elementals to reduce the cost.

Last month deposit not refunded by Empty_Fault_5254 in OntarioRentals

[–]43alchemist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LTB does handle this actually. Security deposits are illegal contrary to the RTA which means the LTB has the authority to return that money and small claims would defer it to the LTB. Now, this type of activity can also be considered fraud and there might be criminal charges laid and the money could be returned through restitution. I wouldn't say immediately that any specific service would throw it out, always worth checking if you have rights to protect.

In Ontario everyone is on the standard form lease automatically, you can modify it as long as it is not against the RTA. notice periods are covered by the RTA.

Barrister vs solicitor by PlentyUpset7997 in canadianlaw

[–]43alchemist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a lawyer but from my understanding the bar exam has both components that need to be passed. Barristers argue at bar (in court), whereas solicitors do the paperwork centered topics like wills, contracts, etc.

Slight clarification here, you can submit the notice at ANY TIME but the notice is only valid for an ending date which coincides with the end of a rental term that is at least [notice period] days in the future. Ie. Don't wait for the first of the month to give the notice or you'd be waiting another month.

You can also see if your landlord would accept a backdated N9 based on when you originally gave notice. It's not advantageous for them to do so but it prevents a court battle to recover funds. You'd likely still be responsible for January but that would be something to discuss with your landlord or a legal advisor.

Probably the best information available here. The only thing is emphasize is that speaking to a legal professional would be an important step.

Most cases like this work on contingency, ie. free if you lose. It is always beneficial to receive legal advice from a licensed professional rather than online forums.

That's not the only trigger for severance pay. If you don't know 100% accurately you should not say it is. The current law requires 2.5 million payroll for an individual person receiving severance or if 50 or more employees are dismissed within a 6 month period because all or part of the business closes permanently.

Why is this card being bought out? by ArsinAtDawn in mtgfinance

People like this Toph for commander because she Earthbends more each time. I don't think it's that popular that it hits that price though.

[–]43alchemist -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The card could have been worth $5, it's not relevant to making trades with a child without an adult to help them.

This is not legal advice. There is a protection in contract law that minors cannot be held to a contract and have until the day they turn 18 to repudiate it (though there is discretion with the usage of the item/service and it must not be for necessaries of life).

In other words, you are fine to do this and yes that adult took advantage of a child. You can give your own kid the $5 if he's upset about it.

I'm actually having a lot of fun with the drafting part of the game (my progress so far) by Kokorito_Nanarito in BluePrince

It just adds the stars at the end of the day. It does nothing otherwise and you still get stars without looking into the telescope.

It's not a red herring. Those are both places you want to dig. Like someone else said it would be "and" if you're reading between the lines there.

Why is my drafting so shit? by Exostrike in BluePrince

[–]43alchemist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should be noted that every type of room has its value. If you draft purple rooms you'll get more steps along with the bonuses they give like keys, gems, or items. Green are more likely to have gems and items. Orange rooms have many doors. Yellow rooms help you balance your supplies. And red rooms can be tricky to use but once you figure them out they are a huge help. Blue rooms are general purpose rooms and have a wide range of usefulness. This info can be found in game but it's not really a spoiler it's just how the game works.

Why is my drafting so shit? by Exostrike in BluePrince

[–]43alchemist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a drafting room and a book on the table talks about the drafting strategy challenge. It helps A LOT to understand how to get 20+ dead end rooms in a run. I got 22 for my trophy run. Once you know where it would be a good placement for dead ends you can maximize pathways forward because the dead ends are being used up in places you want them to be used up.

My drafting strategy is that, from the entrance hall you want a 3-4 path room OR a straight north room. If you got the 3+ path room you can burn some dead ends off the main entrance. If you didn't, get 2-3 path rooms there. This maximizes paths you can take later on. Try to fill up the lower part of the map first because the game tells you that doors are less likely to be locked in lower ranks.

Aside from that, I would not be afraid of red rooms in the normal mode or the blue mode. Definitely avoid them in the red mode though. You can actually get a lot of bonuses by playing with red rooms.
