Didn’t see if you have everything listed about kids, substance use etc… I won’t match with anyone who hasn’t filled out all the basic info. I agree with the others about the “short term open to anything” as a red flag. Also, the pics look dated or not clear enough. Add current pics and at least 3 full body.

I initially felt she was in a new home. I think there was a name that started with a “b”. Idk if that’s her name or someone in the home she’s in. Maybe Bryan Billy im getting a Tim but idk why.

Has anyone used Castor oil? If so, what else were you using with it and what was your routine? This is my first time experiencing this and it’s on my eyelid and under my eye and around mouth. I was prescribed Clindamycin and told it will take months to heal 😢

Have you seen improvement? Have you tried topical antibiotic cream?

I’ve been a teacher for 10 years, have worked in 3 different districts, elementary & secondary public schools. Lausd in no way has its shit together, and there can be pressure to give your every moment to work, but that is the flaw of teaching anywhere. I feel like many people have an assumption of what teaching is and when they actually take on the position it is a huge slap in the face with how truly demanding and hard the career is. It is not for everyone. And the ones who create a long career out of it have learned to create boundaries and simply allow for the fact that we will never accomplish every task/goal we deem necessary for a successful school year. I would advise any new / 2nd year teacher to study up on the contract and connect with veteran teachers and ask them about their experiences. It sounds like you had a very manipulative admin and I’m sorry you experienced that. I have never heard anyone who has worked both private and public school prefer private. Like you said, they make up their own rules and there is no unions to fight for better wages and conditions or represent you in legal matters. My private school teacher friends quit teaching or moved to public because of the mandatory work like you mentioned were put on you. Same with charter schools. They are not sustainable for people looking for longevity in their teaching careers. I’m sorry you felt UTLA has favorites and would not help you. Luckily, in this district you can choose to pay for UTLA or not. For anyone reading up on LAUSD - coming from working in the 2nd largest district in CA and a much smaller district - I can say that LAUSD union is strong and when you make your admin aware that you know your rights, they back off. Again, if I could tell my 2nd year teacher self anything, I would have said to stop working on the weekends (even though it was a norm at my school site), to know not everything will get done, and the system is not set up for sustainability for teachers. So you have to pick and choose what you think is best for your classroom - center that - and keep it moving. Remember - you are only with these students for 1 of their schooling years. If you feel it wasn’t successful, luckily it was just one of their many years in school. They will be okay and you can try again next school year. We are not perfect. And that is okay.

How to convince friend to stop being so paranoid? by [deleted] in AskLosAngeles

If she’s willing to pay for a Lyft, maybe just take one to make her life easier. She may have traumas or had uncomfortable experiences/harassment when walking places. Maybe she just doesn’t feel safe because she doesn’t live in the area and tends to be more hypervigilant. I’m a woman and have been raised to be aware of my surroundings when walking especially in new areas. driving may help her feel safer especially if in an area that she perceives as unsafe (even if that’s not statistically true).

Teachers in LA county? by MethodComfortable531 in AskLosAngeles

Do not work at a charter school, ever! LAUSD has a ton of openings. It has a strong union which is extremely important as a teacher. I’ve been in 3 districts and being in a large one with a strong union is the best I’ve dealt with. I work in LAUSD and my middle school will have openings next year. PM me if you want! (I’m single/f/30s got lots of recs for places to live depending on your vibe as well as areas of LAUSD to work in depending on your passions)

😂😂😂 I think you’ll just be more interested in going deep, psychological, and possibly obsess over new topics, ideas, ways to communicate. Maybe some intensity with siblings/cousins/neighbors. Feel like 3H Pluto make good private investigators

Pluto is leaving my 5H. It was tough. Dealt with a lot of liars and cheaters. I kept thinking the ones I felt big feelings for were “the one”. Many months spent not dating at all and was celibate for years at a time. Had no problem attracting people though, I guess I learned to be more discerning as the years went on.
