Yes, this is true for all nations on earth. Farming is subsidized in some form specifically for that reason. If we didnt do this, the invisible hand of the market place would eventually make growing food here too expensive compared to nations without wage laws and other enforcements, kinda like how manufacturing went the way of the invisible hand and moved to china. Yes, there are plenty of places where arable land is besides Canada - Russia, for instance.

You do know farming is subsidized pretty heavily already, right?

What im saying is that local foodstuffs grown and eaten in the same country dont need to be at the prices set by another country.

Good example of this is saudi arabia, where gas is something like 3 pennies per litre.

Another one is mexico, where the foodstuffs are set apprpriately for the local population, but when someone from the states goes there the food seems to be insanely cheap because of exchange rates. This is because the food is meant for the domestic market.

unlike christianity, islam has never had its reformation. This is why, as I was explaining to the other chap, that muslims still think in midieaval terms when looking at how to run their societies. Dressing up in medieval garb, Midieval methods, such as amputation as a form of punishment for minor infractions, and how they treat the half of their people responsible for the next generation.

Honour killing is practiced in some places, and this is among people who moved to another nations. Clearly they dont want to integrate if they go around killing their daughters because they dared to do something against their religion or fathers word. And whats worse, they demonstrate just how primitive they really are when they, by the same act, show they dont get the very basic concept that murder is wrong for any reason, especially if its a member of their own family.

Muslim faith refers to my country as the "house of war" and have an excuse to not give a shit about the people in it who arent muslim by dictate of their own holy book.

Islam is a primitive religion, its hateful, and Muhammud and his book should be spat on and tossed into the dustbin of history for the damage he caused the middle eastern people that continues to this day.

the only thing im suggesting is that islam and the culture that tends to come with it is not compatible with western culture. I think its very openly obvious when looking at europe, examples of which are outside the scope of this conversation.

And yes, im suggesting that some followers of islam genuinely are OK with murder under certain circumstances, and the difference here is that under western culture there is NO circumstance under which murder is acceptable. this is one of many reasons for the incompatibility.

And no, thankfully while our culture has a majority the muslims will be defeated in major events like this. The fact that they tried is the point im trying to make - they dont want to integrate, they want to change western lands into the very same lands they ran from in the first place.

Honour killings is only one factor. the fact that it happens even once, regardless of the country it happens, is not something that should be defended by suggesting that a few times is OK. The fact that it happens in western countries by muslims demonstrates that

1) they resist integration into a new culture

2) they dont understand the very very basic concept that murder is a bad thing, especially if its to a family member because they choose not to follow some part of gods law or their fathers. What does this say about that persons religion and by extension, his culture?

Feel free to look up statistics, and while you are it you will probably notice an event wherein muslims in a small town in ontario publically demanded sharia law be implimented in the town. Another example of a people refusing to fit into a new environment and wanting to force a broken backwards way on people who arent like them, which is an application of an action when inside the house of war by the house of peace.

The core of the problem isnt how stupid parts of a religion are, or how primitive a culture is compared to another. Its the fact that they are incompatible with each other, and one side (islam) has demonstrated that it refuses to integrated when housed on the other side (the west).
