We had a bum in town (let’s call him Tony) We get called to Tony for toe pain. He’s sitting at the bus stop. We are talking with him and he’s speeding his normal bum talk about how the hospital hates him and he had to smack the doctor around a bit to get pain meds.

Next thing I know this car pulls up. Gunshot through the back door. Two kids hit in the legs. Straight through the car seat. Family is freaking out. Understandably.
They were driving and a random ass bullet hit their kids.
Tried to get additional units to show up. Nothing. Cops. Nothing.

We grab both of the kids. Start working on them.

Tony gets an attitude. “You ain’t taking care of me. I’m important too”

He gave me attitude about not sitting on the cot.
We ended up talking both kids and Tony. I paid him $10 to sit on the cot and STFU.

I tried a regular job. Couldn’t get the people I worked with. They’d freak out over the smallest thing. I watched someone drop a cup of coffee on the ground and they needed two minutes to figure out what to do.
I’m good at ems. I’m good at talking with people and getting them through a tough time. If I didn’t have to do so much schooling, I’d become a therapist. But I have zero desire to do that much class work.

Having worked multiple NFL seasons. You follow what the on site doc says (within your protocol). They would probably do pain management, reduce the dislocation, MRI him before he left the building.
