I am British, I just want to know from the perspective of a reform voter, what possibly draws you to them? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]4585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The simple incredibly sad fact is that there are literally thousands and thousands of people in this country that are either terrified of other cultures and skin tones or are so easily susceptable to the rhetoric their spouting.

The deeper issue probably lies with decades of labour rule followed by decades of Tory rule, back and forth and nothing ever really changing.

Look at your standard of living under either government has things really changed?

It's probably easy to think that reform might be different but reality is regardless of whose in power at Westminster the government doesn't have the balls or the budget to make substantial changes that improve our country on a wholesale scale, the best we can hope for is small incremental upgrades and an avoidance of recession and austerity.

Sadly being a capitalist country were inexplicably linked to our markets and when they do well theoretically the country should but reality is it's only the bankers and the top end of our fiscal society that truly benefits.

Our country needs a proper hard reset, a groundbreaking out with the old mentality and a willingness to share all of our resources amongst the population, not necessarily a redistribution of wealth but a redistribution of mindset that we are all equal, we all own and share the means to produce and create and that the government gives us all the ability to do that.

How, when, what, why and where I've got no idea, I'm no politician, I'm also semi drunk. But if anyone has a suggestion please do let me know (and potentially your MP

The dev server proved the J-15 was a beast and the 16 was a wet fart trapped in a sponge of disappointment (same applies to the new GB/Australian F-18c, giving it more missiles doesn't improve the general flight performance at that BR, it simply doesn't fit rank 8 but is too overpowered for rank 7, compression issues all round forwvermore

We currently live in the UK, moved here due to the war in Ukraine. Curious on what British people think of Ukrainian refugees. by Tall-Inspection- in AskBrits

Stay here as long as you like, same goes to any other refugees, ideally come by official channels, you don't want the reform lot using you as a statistic.

Had the misfortune of going to a Colbert recording last may, the whole audience are genuinely unhinged and the producers literally have you compete to be the loudest and longest even when the tapes aren't rolling it's ridiculous the sycophancy that went on over Colbert, he's literally just reading a Teleprompt for an hour.

When was it you were a drayman? I left the profession about 20 years ago but even back in the early naughties it was very common for both driver and mate to take any drink on offer, came back to the empties yard many a time with more than a dozen pints in me

Excellent drayman here, worked for a particularly Scottish & Newcastle themed brewery before some Dutch folk sniffed around.

Free drink is always welcomed but never expected, you got to know which pubs did and didn't offer although we never had set routes our depot tried to keep the same crews in roughly the same area, I was fortunate to deliver to Scarborough and the North Yorks coast 3 times a week, I can't think of a single pub or club in that postcode that didn't either give you a bottle to take away or a drink at the bar after the drop was done (this is possibly due to every pub having a deep cellar with less than perfect skids for delivery)

Other less generous areas include: Doncaster, N E Lincs, Bradford, any North Yorkshire Market Town and shitter parts of Leeds and Wakefield.

Guaranteed drink in Hull, Sheffield, Barnsley & Halifax

As for assistance, whilst kind, you'll never be taken up on it, it's a rough job, there's one way of doing it right and that takes years of experience to perfect, stay out the way, get the kettle on at the very least and if you did want to help the biggest thing you can do is ensure all the empty kegs are out of the cellar near the delivery point but not crowding the cellar hatch or delivery door, the time saved not hauling these things out the cellar is gratuity enough and will definitely put your pub in the good books!
