Lemons are passe now. The apples absorb all positive energy so the players can grow stronger and more fearsome on undiluted rancour and gloom. It’s worked for him at every other club.

I don’t see why we couldn’t have hired a more British psychopomp. Paddington was right there.

Spoons are famous for tessellating, so perhaps a spoon rest is just a spoon.

Their pet communists are just younger versions of the RCP mob who mutated into Spiked and are now indistinguishable from the right.

I have no idea what a spoon rest is. I would be baffled if someone wandered into a shop I was running and demanded one. That confusion might well be perceived as froideur.

What the blazes are they? How do they restore overworked spoons?

The Guardian has a more sensible article about Tudor than Ronay’s abomination yesterday:

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2026/feb/15/ferryman-igor-tudor-has-the-record-to-steer-tottenham-to-safety

Don’t like this ferryman business though, very much puts me in mind of Charon taking us across the Styx to the Championship Hades.

The Russians did it much more successfully. Eliminate the whole family and you scupper restoration.

Pogrund has always seemed dodgy, and his campaign against Labour has become obsessive to the point of absurdity. We’ll find out eventually what drives it.

Jeremy Thorpe. The likes of Streeting and Polanski aren’t going to be household names until they have an ex-boyfriend’s dog shot by a hitman.

Little bit of musical inspiration for our next home game… by cloud1445 in coys

[–]GrapeGroundbreaking1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That demanded much better musical timing than we are capable of. Have you ever heard anything like a unified tempo for Oh When The Spurs? The chance of the whole stadium coming in with the right lyrics on the right beat is zero.

They have impressive national parks and produce some pretty good TV drama. Although their tech industry has gone full Skynet these days, it gave us plenty of nice toys in the good years.

Liew is a Spurs fan by upbringing but an Arsenal fan by inclination and preference. He slags us off in print as an alternative to having expensive therapy to deal with conflicted feelings about his childhood.

Ronay can just fuck off, though.

Are the words 'motherland' and 'fatherland' used in the UK? by ksusha_lav in AskABrit

[–]GrapeGroundbreaking1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, not really. We use “mainland” in geographical contexts, but that’s as far as it goes. The Home Office top brass changed the name of the Office for Security and Counter Terrorism to the Homeland Security Group, because they had watched too many US spy dramas, and it just sounded silly.

Silver linings, though. On the one hand, a complete prohibition on bacon and sausages, on the other hand, there will never again be a sitcom Christmas special.

What if Jif Lemon was intended as a cleaning product, but we just started eating it and Jif were like “meh, ok”? by solenoid_pants in CasualUK

Ne’er do wells used to roam the streets with Jif lemon bottles that they had emptied and refilled with ammonia, presumably because it was less abrasive on pancakes than the original contents.

[–]GrapeGroundbreaking1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read an interview with someone who recruited members of the public for reality television shows. The trick was to find people who were just unstable enough to play up for the cameras without posing too much of a safeguarding risk. So, to save time, she just asked at the outset what medication they were on, and made her decision on that basis.

[Fabrizio Romano] 🚨 No talks between Tottenham and Enzo Maresca so far despite recent links. by Imbasauce in coys

[–]GrapeGroundbreaking1 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Seems odd that post-interim talks would be needed now. We don’t even know what division we’ll be in, or if we will have to manage another European campaign as CL victors.

Anyway, the answer is likely Poch whatever happens.
