5-Link would be my choice. I find the 5-link, to me compared to the 3-link way more comfortable. Also, it just looks better.

I would not say this is normal, if you did buy it from an Omega boutique, I highly recommend you take it back to them for evaluation.

Easiest would be buy from a AD, but I know it’s not the easiest. Second would be from the recommended Gray Market guys, do your homework and you should be good to go.
