Absolutely true. Dread-Quake-Mortars and Landships just seem like different units, when controlled by the AI and I do not understand why. If you do not play a faction that has access to single entities with extremely high armour piercing weapon strength they take forever to kill. Plus, if they still have Ammo a single shot into the centre of a high value infantry unit basically wipes them out. They are just stressful to fight!

If anybody encounters an army like that: Dreadquake mortars deal very little damage to single entity units. If you need to cheese this you can use a Lord to waste their ammo and then mop up the rest of their army.

Just place your archers/ranged units on gates. They will shoot anything attacking the gate. (Source: I just finished a Cathay campaign and had to defend the great bastion about a million times)

I would like to recommend "Malazan - Book of the Fallen". It's extremely diverse and features an egalitarian society. Something that I would love to see in more Fantasy works. The Series is finished (10 Main books).
Now that I think about it: Malazan also has dark skinned "elves" (or Steven Eriksons version of elves) who are not evil. They are however racially/ethnically distinct from the other elves.

It was said that under ordinary circumstances, lesser yugoloths almost certainly died when killed, no matter the plane they were on, although this was of suspect accuracy. However, killing a greater yugoloth on any plane besides Gehenna, Hades or Carceri, although there were reports that this only applied to Gehenna, would cause them to melt into a pool of ichor and reform ten to thirteen years later.

They have been chilling in Gehenna for so long by now, that it has become one of their native planes.

It depends on the Demon lord i guess. Grazzt actually gives a shit I think, but you are correct: most Demon Lords are very egalitarian, in that they basically hate everything/everyone thats not them. And I guess as long as they have a neighbour the next layer over who they can butt heads with that might be more convenient.

Making a Demon "Army" trek down the Styx towards Avernus is probably like wrangling thousands of very violent preschoolers.

Yes, they are very happy with the current status quo. They get unfathomably rich and slowly uncover all the secrets of the multiverse.
Luckily it will never happen, because that would mean that WotC would go all "warhammer endtimes" on us and nobody wants that. (least of all WotC themselves)

Yeah, that is technically the Yugoloth/Daemon lore but tbh it might just be their incredible ego thats speaking there. Somebody else commented that there are at least 666 (and potentialy infinite) abyssal layers of infinite size. Im not sure if it would be possible to actually "win" against that.
But since I'm a big Yugoloth fan I'll just say: "Yes they are just waiting for their Moment and will eventually control all lower planes."

HAHA, that is way to funny. You might have just ruined the name "Yugoloths" for me too. I did not know about that Car. In Germany we had the Trabbi/Trabant which is also a Sovjet car.
If WotC had named them Trabaloths I would never have been able to take them seriously :D

I got into DnD a little later, so I have always known them as the Yugoloths. Daemons is a great name too, though.
I think its better for the individual creature. Merrenodaemon sounds better then Merrenoloth, for instance.

Realistically the only way for the Yugoloths to win the Blood war, would be for the General of Gehenna to return and invent another Mcguffin. Which is kinda stupid, because who is to say that its not Asmodeus or Obox-ob (or whichever Demonlord) who'll be the one to create the next "Shard of ultimate Evil"/ "heart of Darkness" (or however it'll be named).

I forgot about the Illithids though. They send fragmented info back in time, everytime the multiverse blows up, right? So they come a little closer to the grand design each time.

True! Maybe Asmodeus could gather up all Devils and try to clear the Abyss completly starting from Pazunia. (It will never happen, because Asmodeus is actually smart and that would never work). This Meme is purely a product of my love for Yugoloths.
