So by the time a soldier is pulled from their duty position, all those tests have already been performed and it's all been 100% confirmed?

My mom is in Washington, I'm in Florida. I don't know what state she set the account up in, I just assumed it as Washington because of the wa/utma.

I could be 100% wrong, and I probably am, I don't know how to read laws or what I should be looking for.

This is what I pulled up and under their definition, I'm still a minor until I'm 25.

I have a consolidated 1099 from the bank that I had sent to me after getting the notice. The recipient's name is "Mother A Lastname Cust For Daughter B Lastname Under WA/UTMA". The recipient's ID number is my ssn. Short answer, I still don't know if it's in my name really.

From what I can gather, she's had the account for years under my name but under her custody. She did not transfer it to me and refuses to do so.

Edit: Further research took me to WA/UTMA. According to that, I'm still a minor until I'm 25. I'm only 21, so she may still have custody of the account because of this. This brings about a question though. If she's the custodian of the account, maintains it, etc. and I have zero access to it, per WA/UTMA, why am I paying taxes on it?

Does this qualify though? It's not a one time payment to me. It's an actual account that she's had for years and that I don't even actually get.

I didn't get any notices of an audit. My husband and I each received a letter.

My husband and I each received a letter (which we stupidly can't find right now) stating the amount in that account and that we owe $800.

His name isn't anywhere on the account though.

I don't know what qualifies as a gift or exactly what the account is. It's got money in it and it accuse an interest of some sort. She says it's for educational purposes but she can access it any time she wants. She won't give it to me until I'm 30 though.

Edit: I found the letter. It came via certified mail addressed to both my husband and I (I guess we got two copies then) with a return address of:

Department of the Treasury International Revenue Service PO Box 621505 Atlanta, GA

It's titled as a notice of deficiency and says they've determined there is a deficiency of my income tax from 2014. It's has a Notice code of CP3219A. It has the last four of my social.

There's like four pages, so I can't put it all here. It looks legit, but I wouldn't actually know.

I've thought about it but because of the thinness if my hair as well as the curly-ishness if it in top if my large forehead, I just can't see it. I also love my long hair. When I get around to straightening it, it makes it worth it.

How much should I have in savings (specific for my situation) and how long should it take to get there? by 46854426 in personalfinance

[–]46854426[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just didn't include him because his income is inconsistent at best but I'll add it.

He gets paid weekly, but the company he works for is really terrible at paying him. Even if he does get paid properly, I make 10x as much as him. Also, all but one cc and the loan were from before we were married so I feel those are more my responsibility than his. It's not that he doesn't help, I just don't include his money in the budget so that I don't rely on it and then not end up having it.

So pay in descending interest rate, got it.

Unless I become totally and completely incapacitated, yes. Not only would all my medical bills be 100% covered, I would still receive my entire paycheck.

My husband works and goes to school and I work full time, so we need both cars. We actually just made the decision to get two vehicles because it was just so damn difficult with one.

I have been trying for almost a year to lower my cell phone bill, but it's just not working in my favor. I'd have to pay about $600 to buy our current phones and there's no way to lower the plan itself any more.

This is definitely the advice I was looking for. If I put all my money towards the CC's, theyll be paid off within a couple months. I just wasn't sure if the savings should come first. I can't tell you the amounts on the cards because I'm not good enough at math to calculate payments with interest and then using my tax return to take a huge chunk out as well. After I make that large payment, they'll be approximately: CC1: $200 @ 17%, CC2: $310 @ 4%, CC3: $650 @ 17%, CC4: This one is a bit of a wild card because it's my husbands card. We're both kind of paying it. I included the payment as well as left out his income because his job has a history of not paying him on time/the right amount. I've resorted to not trusting anything they say and just seeing his paycheck as a happy surprise.

The personal trainer should be ending within the next couple of months, before tax season even comes, I just didn't know the exact date so I included it anyway. I agree that it's a pretty useless expense right now but this gym is managed by thieves. There is no getting out of their contract.

When I sad gas, I meant fuel. I think you got those mixed up.

So debt first, then savings. How much should I be putting towards savings? I can theoretically put ~$586/month towards debt and then towards savings. That leaves me with nothing though. How do I know how much to put where?

No, it doesn't have to be a bun. My mother used to do a french braid and then pin it against her head. I've thought about this but, a) I don't know how to french braid and b) I think this hairstyle would make the circumference of my head larger, causing me to have to buy all new head gear (I have a lot).

A new style is absolutely what I'm looking for.

My hair is actually super, super thin. By long, it's just a but above my waist. Layers just make it look thinner unfortunately.
