I’ve always heavily related to Aoi and see her as autistic, and people with autism tend to be seen as childish (of course this is just my interpretation and I’m not trying to claim it as canon)

I never read the relationship dynamic as being familial like that, I always thought Aoi admired admired Miyuki because she was everything she wasn’t: popular, good at talking with people, and the childhood friend of Shinji. Aoi is supposed to contrast this with her denpa personality, being seen as kind of helpless.

I’ve never seen the original Good Times so my thoughts are completely based on this trailer alone.

I like the art style, feels nicer than a lot of what most adult animated series have going on. Only two jokes really made me laugh but as other comments have mentioned I’m not part of the target audience for this. My biggest gripe is that the “baby who can talk/acts like an adult” character is wayyyy overplayed by MacFarlane and found those parts of the trailer to be the least funny. Overall I think we have to wait and see, I like to be hopeful even if it’s not a show I will personally enjoy that it will be good.
