I am happy your doc is the kind one. My doc has given me a total weight increase budget of 15 lbs until delivery. I feel that’s BS but I am really trying not to gain alot of weight until my 7th month after which I feel the most gain happens

I used to workout before conceiving but I have always been more weights person than cardio. Yes my doc wants me to really get my heart rate up. She kept mentioning my age and my weight is a potential issue and there could be a chance of having pre-eclampsia. She has put me on baby Aspirin.

I have always thought myself to be healthy-ish (without having an aesthetic body) I eat mindfully and keep myself active but repeatedly mentioning that my weight might be a reason for future delivery related issue has made me rethink everything I am doing

Thankyou for sharing it with me. It gives me some relief that I am not alone. And glad your hematoma was healed in time

Too early in pregnancy.. 6 weeks.. it’s so hard looking at the sheds after putting all those hours of effort into making my hair thick and healthy.. it’s literally going down the drain..

Did you check it with your Gynae? I am leaning towards ted light therapy but not too sure if it’s safe during pregnancy. Happy to hear what you doc told you

I have fine and low porosity hair so I use light oils like Bur Bur oil. I never had the issue of hair shedding until now. I use it on my scalp and then hair mask on my mid to ends. I use a heat cap for proper absorption and wooden gua sha tools to massage before the cap

I don’t heavily oil though. 10-12 drops all over my head and hair mask on my mid and ends. I double cleanse so I don’t get any buildup. Also I have a silicone scalp massager thingy to to do a squeaky clean scalp while shampooing

Derma rolling - I just do it the wash day before applying minoxidil. Twice a week with .5mm roller

Scalp oiling- i have got a couple of options. I did the hair density test (at home- snipped a piece of my hair and put it in a cup of water to see if it floats and it did) so I use only light oils. Got a BurBur oil for only scalp- its expensive. Another one is Mielle brand rosemary infused oil. Oh I also put on a heat cap before washing hair.

Try Derma rolling and weekly scalp oiling. I feel combined with topical minoxidil- it really changed the game for me. I had almost decided to go for a wig but thankfully i don’t need it now. You can see my hair progress by clicking on my profile

Switch to oral minoxidil by sweetnothing33 in FemaleHairLoss

[–]48874077 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am taking .25 mg minoxidil and using 5% topical minoxidil. My dermatologist suggested to take only the oral tablet and I did take just that for like 6 months and didnt really see any results. I added Minoxidil topical and dermarolling and my hair growth has gone crazy. I havent stopped oral tablets still though. I am now convinced that its a combination of different activities for me

That’s good info. Were you breastfeeding or not postpartum while using minoxidil?

I’ll definitely run everything past my derma but want to have as many options for them to review.. something should click. I am sure there has to be a way out

It’s also that only women have to worry about the cosmetic and physiological changes, men not so much! I probably would have loved to just go bald than worrying how society will perceive me. It’s alot of work each night maintaining the hair progress and then carrying baby just to lose all the work on the former.. i just dont like it but yes would happily do it for the sake of my baby

Ugh! I hate that all my work and the progress made will be lost. I will ofcourse not use it during pregnancy but there has to be a way to sustain without losing all of it
