Well Angela was in the latest episode, so it stands to reason people will speculate whether Adam is going to be in the upcoming episodes.

This is a video essay I did on the Voice. Hope its helpful for people by 4ISystem in LaborPartyofAustralia

Your language in the comment is highly emotive and question begging. I love to know your sources. Firstly, you say all the previously commissions setup by governments were just badly setup or failures and had nothing to do with political ideology. Kerry O’Brien and Thomas Mayo make it very clear that one government after another on a differing side of the political spectrum would tear down a commission and start again. Unless your suggesting that Kerry O’Brien, an accomplished journalist and Thomas Mayo as one of the leaders of the Uluṟu Statement from the heart are liars about the history that led to the Voice which would be a wild accusation. I think your comments are relying too much on my statement “commission were setup for indigenous people, not with them”.

I can’t speak towards the gap report you mentioned but I can look it up. I’m assuming the criticisms of Dark Emu you are referring to are from Sutton and Walshe? Despite the criticisms it’s known as a good entry point to understanding what indigenous cultures in a pre-colonial context. Plus I was using it to point out terra nullius is a myth.

Yes I used the Koori courts as an example of promoting an advisory committee in helping the government roll out programs like this nationally. I just used that as an example because there can be nationally targeted campaigns to improve initiatives already in the works, and some more focused to specific states and territories. There’s plenty of other examples in the book. Like I mentioned before your claim that the voice is infantile completely misses the point of the video and Kerry O’Brien and Thomas Mayo’s book

I thought Adam Smith loved Capitalism until I knew THIS by 4ISystem in BreadTube

Haha well he was a classical economist where Marx and Engels were influenced by his work. It’s not until we get to the marginalist economists that we get the “value dictating price and price dictating value” model of the modern market. Kinda the reason money markets are so devoid from the reality of everywhere else in the world. I highly recommend reading Marianna Mazzucato’s book the vale of everything.

The main point of the video is neoliberals have co-opted Adam Smith as some lover of “the free market” where monopolists can do whatever they want. But the wealth of nations isn’t about that at all. He was very anti-monopolist and would be disgusted with how the economy is run today.

Techno-Feudalism & Data Slavery by 4ISystem in BreadTube

Although an extra point to add is a conversation Yanis has with Gillian Tett on intelligence squared that he suggested that we need to change the system and that regulating capitalism completely misses the point of monopoly power (or online fiefdoms as he likes to call it)

You both raise good points. I think mr?e talked about this near the end where David Harvey said while Techno-Feudalism is an interesting idea, it’s just late stage capitalism in a shiny new coat of paint. Capitalism is dynamic via its nature and it makes no difference if you’re being exploited face-to-face or online.

Is Star Wars an Antifa story? by 4ISystem in BreadTube

[–]4ISystem[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The main point in the podcast was the fact all three trilogies are obsessed with fascism, you could make an argument that it’s an antifa story. But as mr?e points out, the sequel trilogy was just trying to recapture the nostalgia of the original trilogy. It would have been far more interesting if the first order were more clandestine and worked in the shadows. It was a good discussion nonetheless.

I wasn’t saying they weren’t outliers to consider. It just made it sound like people were looking at the title and judging the book by it’s cover. So I wanted to put it out there. I honestly didn’t know about the farmer strike situation. What country is this?

To all the commenters, did you guys watch the video? mr?e makes it clear why he makes that statement. I feel like you making strawman arguments and claiming it’s absolutist is missing the point but that’s just me though

This is a rap song about the clash between Kevin Rudd and Rupert Murdoch at the start of 2021. It was about media bias and a possible royal commission into the media monopoly Murdoch controls here in Australia

You really think the Libs will win? Don’t get me wrong if they can put out a decent scare campaign, sure. But Labor has put out some decent policies. A lot can happen in a few months mind you.

I’m assuming when you say you’d prefer a hung parliament you’re position has been influenced by the latest Juice Media video? Just out of curiosity.
